Schneider Electric Shifts to SE.com

In May of 2017, I published an article to share that Schneider Electric acquired SE.com, a high value 2 letter .com domain name. At that time, it was only speculated that the company had acquired the domain name based on some insight George Kirikos was able to glean from the Whois record. The acquisition of SE.com has been confirmed, according to an email Schneider Electric sent to its customers on October 22:

Subject: Our web address has changed!

SIMPLICITY for a better user experience.

Our web address has changed! Now, to visit us, just type: SE.com/US

We have not changed our brand, name, logo, or any company information. We simply made it easier to find us! Please be sure to update any saved links or logins to our new domain SE.com/US

The company is not changing its brand name or logo, but having the SE.com domain name will be beneficial in other ways. I think SE.com is much easier for people to recall than Schneider-Electric.com. SE.com will also be great for marketing materials and advertising campaigns. The company may also use SE.com for email, although it looks like they are continuing to use the same @schneider-electric.com email addresses.

Thank you to David Clements for sharing the Schneider Electric email with me.
