Mike Berkens Still Closing Deals

Mike Berkens privately sold much of his portfolio to GoDaddy earlier this year. I understand he kept most of the adult domain names and his portfolio of new gTLD domain names.

According to this tweet from Frank Schilling, Mike is still making deals happen. Apparently he bought Stock.Photo for $16,000 at the NamesCon auction after already owning Stock.Photos. He then reportedly sold the pair of domain names to Richard Lau for $60,000.

$60k for Stock.Photo and Stock.Photos seems like a pretty solid sale.

Obviously since the auction for Stock.Photo just ended today, his deal with Richard Lau is still pending. Not a bad ROI though.

  1. Would be nice to publish a summary of all domain names that were auctioned at #NamesCon2016, to see which sell and for how much; which not, with their highest bids. Overall the auction seems NOT to be a success at all, IMO. At least my expectations were much higher.

  2. Actually kinda sad to see pictures of the event and realize that the vast majority of the people in attendance will be losing their investments when their dumb arse gtlds fail.

  3. This is simply smart PR marking…

Richard was there and could have bought the domain at auction himself???

So one of the guys who runs ROTD won a name in an auction they had put together. The name he won was being sold by the registry that was a title sponsor of the conference and then the name was resold to one of the guys that runs Namescon who had trouble bidding on the auction running at his conference.

    What a trifecta!

There needs to be a buzz and good on them IMO…
