Meeting with Lori Anne Wardi to Raise Funds for Non-Profit

There is a charity auction on CharityBuzz that will be of interest to people in the domain name business. Lori Anne Wardi is auctioning a private one hour lunch meeting with the proceeds to benefit the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship South Florida.

I have known Lori Anne for almost ten years, and think she is one of the smartest people I know in the domain business. If you haven’t met Lori Anne or aren’t familiar with her, here is a bit of background from the CharityBuzz auction listing:

“Lori Anne Wardi is currently the Vice President of Business Development at Neustar’s Registry Services  Group, where she is currently overseeing the launch strategy of the .nyc domain.

Previously, Lori Anne was a co-founder of the company behind the global launch and management of the .CO  domain extension, which was recently acquired by Neustar. Currently there are nearly 1.7 million .CO domain  names registered by individuals and businesses in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.

As VP of Business Development for all of Neustar’s Registry Services Group, Lori Anne is responsible for all  matters involving brand strategy, business development, premium domain strategy and global communications  for all of Neustar’s franchise top level domains.

In addition to running her own consulting practice, prior to her involvement in the domain space, Lori Anne  spent two years as a Manager of Professional Development at Goldman Sachs and five years practicing  employment law at  Proskauer  in New York City.”

There are quite a few domain registries and registrars that would benefit from a meeting with Lori Anne. I presume the lunch meeting would need to be held in Miami, but perhaps arrangements could be made for a meeting at a domain investment or other mutually agreeable event.

The minimum bid to start is $500 and the estimated value of the lunch is listed at $2,500. Other participants in the NFTE  auction include Venus Williams, Bruce Turkel, and Adrienne Bosh.

  1. Elliot, thanks so much for writing about the NFTE charity auction. All proceeds of my auction will help NFTE to further their efforts to inspire young people from low-income communities to stay in school, to recognize business opportunities and to plan for successful futures.

The NFTE auction ends on May 5th. It’s for a great cause — and I hope your readers will bid, bid, bid! Even though the auction says I will donate an hour of my time — if a DomainInvesting reader is the winner — I will double the consulting time to meet and strategize about their business.

Thanks for helping to spread the word!

    – Lori Anne Wardi

  2. Please be sure to hit up Goldman Sachs for a significant donation

After all, we taxpayers footed $700B via TARP to help rescue this “bank holding company”

  3. Hello Elliot,

Kudos, People care about people who care about them. The movement towards caring about our brothers and sisters, are tremendously rewarding to our spirits.
    Thanks Elliot, JAS 4/21/15

Gratefully, Jeff Schneider (Contact Group) (Metal Tiger)
