Why I Wasn’t at TRAFFIC and Why I Won’t Be At DomainFest

A bunch of people asked me why I wasn’t at TRAFFIC, and I thought I had mentioned the reason a while back.We are moving to the Boston area tomorrow, and my wife and I have been packing for the last several days. I was hoping to make a last minute trip to Florida, but am happy I didn’t because the packing is nowhere close to being finished with less than 24 hours until the moving company arrives.

I already know I won’t be able to make it to DomainFest either. Last year, Karen and I won a silent auction for a week long home rental at Mont Tremblant in Montreal. We wanted to be sure some of our friends could come skiing with us, so we reserved the home for a week in February, which happens to be the week of DomainFest. ย Unfortunately, the dates of DomainFest were announced after the reservation was made.

The good news is that I plan to attend TRAFFIC Las Vegas, and I will buying my ticket soon so it can be firmly placed on my calendar.

Anyway, I am sorry if I missed you in Ft. Lauderdale this year. I would love to have been down there instead of packing here. It’s going to be sad to move out of New York City, but there is something to be said about being close to our families in that area and having a home with a yard, and that isn’t available here.

Americans live in sort of prison, they are scared of one another.

  2. Elliot, it would have been great to finally meet but family is more important than anything in this world. Good luck with the move, now you’ll have to pick up a Bawston accent. ๐Ÿ˜€

    • I didn’t pick up a NY accent in the 10 years I’ve been here, so hopefully no Boston accent either.

We’ll be in south Florida from Christmas through the first week in January. If you have plans to be there, maybe we can get together. I am sure I will be getting together with some business friends while down there.

  3. You will love Mont Tremblant. Its been years since I was there last. Enjoy your yard and grow a garden, zen for the soul.

  4. Family comes first…and will always be your responsibility.

That the main reason why I don’t live in a matchbox.

A yard, pool, BBQ and your own garden…that the best you gonna have.

  5. Good luck packing up the rest and have a safe move. I’m in Boston/Cambridge from time to time when I visit my client Sedo, so we should try to meet up.

Of course Mont Tremblant is very nice and not far here from me in Montreal, but I will be most likly at DomainFest when you’re there.

  6. Mount Tremblant is an awesome place. I’m sure it won’t be your last visit. Let me know when your settled. I do a lot of work in MA and would love to meet you and take you to lunch sometime if you’re interested. Good luck with the move!
