Vice President Joe Biden Domain Name Expires

JoeBiden.com

If Vice President Joe Biden intends to run for President in the 2016 US Presidential election, JoeBiden.com  should be renewed by someone associated with the VP. If the domain name isn’t renewed, it will most likely go to auction.

According to the default Network Solutions landing page currently showing on JoeBiden.com, the domain name expired on July 16, 2013. Prior to its expiration, JoeBiden.com was registered to an organization called Citizens for Biden.

A snapshot of the website from Screenshots.com shows that it previously forwarded to Vice President Biden’s page on the White House website. When then Senator Biden was running for President, JoeBiden.com was used as a campaign website, according to another screenshot. After joining the Democratic party ticket with President Barack Obama, a screenshot shows that the domain name forwarded to the victorious  campaign website, BarackObama.com.

Vice President Biden has been discussed as a potential Presidential candidate in 2016. Other potential Democratic Party candidates include Former Secretary of State  Hillary Clinton, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker. All three of these potential candidates appear to either own their full name .com domain names, or these domain names are owned by organizations that work with the candidates.

Whether Vice President Biden decides to run for President or not, I believe it is in his best interest to ensure the domain name is renewed and controlled by someone he trusts.
