UDRP Filed on Areas.com

Another UDRP has been filed on what appears to me to be a descriptive keyword domain name. According to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) UDRP database, a UDRP was filed on the Areas.com domain name. The UDRP is WIPO Case D2015-1482.

The complainant in this UDRP is listed as AREAS, S.A. Whois records show that Areas.com is registered to a person (or maybe an entity) with an address in Spain. Historical Whois records seem to show that the domain name has been registered to the same entity for quite some time. At the present time, Areas.com does not resolve for me.

In the last several days, there have been a couple of other UDRP proceedings started on what would seem to be generic / descriptive domain names. Separate UDRPs were filed on WI.com and IEC.com. All three of these domain names hold significant value.

I will be following all three of these UDRP proceedings, and I will update the articles once the decisions are made.

Thank you to Andrew Allemann for first making me aware of the UDRP filing via Twitter.
