New Logo from Afternic (Updated)

Since GoDaddy acquired Afternic in 2013, I don’t think a whole lot has changed with respect to the design of the Afternic website. I presume this is because much of the focus has always been on the integration of domain name sales listings within the GoDaddy website and its DLS network partners, and there probably aren’t a ton of people who end up directly visiting Afternic’s website to buy domain names.

Here’s a look at how Afternic looked in 2013, courtesy of the Screenshots.com tool found via DomainTools:

I was signing in to my Afternic this afternoon to take down an active listing, and I noticed a different look on the account sign in page. What stood out to me is the new look of the Afternic logo:

The logo font and icon appear to be the same, but the blue and red colors have been removed from the Afternic logotype. The color of the icon also changed a bit. Instead of pea green, the icon is now a bright green. In addition, “A GoDaddy Brand” has also been added to the logo. This new logo is more in line with the black GoDaddy logo branding.

I am not sure if GoDaddy will be releasing a completely updated version of the Afternic website, but I will reach out to the company to ask.

Update: A representative from GoDaddy commented to me about this: “We’re working on rebuilding Afternic and will be releasing new features throughout the year.”

  1. Again— why can’t they just replaced that afternic to GoDaddy!!!?

all they have to do is go to File/Search the word afternic and put GoDaddy and click Replace ,Save and reboot

    easy peasy
