I’ve known for quite some time that Larry Fischer of GetYourDomain successfully brokered the sale of the AI.com domain name. The two big questions were about who bought AI.com and how much the buyer spent to acquire AI.com. Both of these questions were answered today.
Kris Marszalek, Founder of Crypto.com, shared that he was the buyer of AI.com. In his announcement on X, he mentioned that AI.com will be featured in a Super Bowl commercial on Sunday:
I purchased https://t.co/ac2AqjBNxj in April. Since that time, we created a team that has been steadily building. There are always twists and turns, but I’m excited with our first launch this Sunday during the Super Bowl. pic.twitter.com/BbqVo1bQLZ

This is big news, but making it even more monumental is the acquisition price of AI.com. Larry Fischer revealed that AI.com was acquired for $70 million USD. As Larry noted, this is more than double the $30 million sale price of Voice.com. Larry mentioned that he was assisted by his son John Fischer as well as John Mauriello on this deal. Now…our turn 😉
This is massive. My original reaction was holy expletive, but this sets an insane new precedent and comp for all future domain sales.
Although this is obviously an industry defining “grail” I don’t think I would have had the gall to hold out for $70 million. Would love to have been a fly on the wall for these negotiations.
Congrats to the seller!
