Update Keywords When You Change PPC Services

I don’t earn much PPC revenue, and I am selective about what domain names I park with PPC advertising. When changing parking service providers, it is important to optimize domain names that need keywords manually input to display proper advertising links.

I park some domain names because they have earned significant parking revenue. I have also parked some domain names more for defensive purposes. For example, a domain name could be considered to be infringing by some people, but with the proper PPC links for the descriptive term rather than a particular brand name, it shows the domain name was acquired because it is descriptive.

If you change your parking service provider without updating keywords for specific domain names, the parking service might show infringing PPC links. The links may be related to a specific brand name rather than its descriptive meaning.

I recently moved some parked domain names from one service to another. One domain name tended to show parking links that could have been considered infringing if the keywords weren’t updated. I had forgotten that I did this when I started parking the domain name. The domain name parked with the new nameservers showed advertising links that could have caused issues had they not been addressed quickly.

When you change parking providers or put a domain name on a parking service, you should always check on the links to make sure they’re “safe.” PPC advertising is pretty dead for me, but there are a few domain names in my portfolio that use PPC parking because I think it is better defensively.
