Spaceship launched its Seller Hub earlier this year, and the company has been quickly implementing changes based on user feedback. The platform offers sales landing pages, and domain names listed on its platform are integrated within the search stream at Spaceship and sister company, Namecheap.
One of the advantages to listing domain names for sale on the Spaceship Seller Hub is the lower commission as compared to Afternic, Sedo, and other platforms. These two external platforms have had domain name listings syndicated across Namecheap, and Namecheap / Spaceship CEO Richard Kirkendall has been touting the savings of listing directly via the Spaceship Seller Hub:

At the moment, Spaceship is offering a 5% sales commission for domain names successfully sold on the platform. This is compared to commissions that range from 15% – 30% on competitor platforms. The amount of savings referenced on the Spaceship savings page is the amount that would have been paid in additional commissions had the domain names sold through the other platforms via Spaceship sales channels.
I think the growth of Spaceship’s Seller Hub is good for domain investors and the aftermarket. Should Spaceship continue to grow its business at the detriment of competitors, it could lead to better services at lower costs for domain investors. Competition is good for domain investors, and I welcome Spaceship’s continued push to growing the aftermarket.
