Atom.com is holding its Black Friday sale beginning on November 28th. The deep sale prices may be good for buyers, but they may not be great for sellers who will still have to pay the (relatively high) commission rate on a successful sale.
Sellers are able to opt-in or opt-out of offering Black Friday sale prices for their domain names in their account settings. In fact, there is currently a dashboard-side banner advising sellers about the upcoming sale so they aren’t caught off-guard:
“Atom’s Black Friday Domain Sale is coming! Visit your settings to opt in or out.”
In the Atom.com message center, the company notes that it has “seen domain sales rise by 40–60%” during past events like this. Atom.com can automatically discount seller domain names by up to 25% during the sale so sellers may be surprised if they are unaware of this. Notably, domain names in the Ultra Premium Marketplace (UPM) and domain names priced above $75,000 won’t be included in the Black Friday sale.
If you’re looking to move inventory on Atom.com before the end of the year, you should might want to opt into the sale. If you would prefer to keep your pricing firm or add your own moderate price reductions, you should consider opting out of the sale. You should be aware that your pricing may be higher compared to other similar listings during the sale.
