My 7 Atom Sales – Approved vs. Sale Price

I’ve been slowly adding domain names to Atom.com as they have gained traction. At the moment, my portfolio is the largest it has been on the platform with 235 premium listings. I also have 47 domain names pending review.

One of the differentiating factors of Atom is that they provide an approved list price. Depending on the seller’s status (Silver, Gold, or Platinum), they can raise or reduce the listing price by a certain amount. This can be helpful since it should offer an additional set of “eyes” on the asking price, and that should provide a bit of guidance on pricing for sellers.

To date, I have 7 sales on Atom, with 3 of them ongoing payment plan deals. I thought I would share the sale price vs. the listing price suggested by Atom when each domain name was approved.

  1. List Price: $21,999 Sale Price: $18,000
  2. List Price: $27,999 Sale Price: $34,812
  3. List Price: $18,399 Sale Price: $13,500
  4. List Price: $18,999 Sale Price: $36,000
  5. List Price: $2,799 Sale Price: $3,068
  6. List Price: $2,399 Sale Price: $2,404
  7. List Price: $4,998 Sale Price: $5,004

I also had one LTO deal that was not completed, which I did not include in those results.

I am pretty sure some of those domain names had prices raised over the course of their listing and others have had discounts applied. A couple of the longer deals had a surcharge applied. As I recall, three of those deals were negotiated prices where the buyer contacted Atom and we negotiated a deal that was different than the list price.

  1. Had absolutely zero success on Atom.
Do you use their brokers? Are the names listed on the premium listings? Had even a name on the ultra premium with zero success.

Some names have not gotten even one offer. Does the platform actually do well?
