LUV.com Acquired by Owner of Matrimony.com

In July, Rick Schwartz announced that he reached a deal to sell the LUV.com domain name for seven figures. The announcement was made on Rick’s private Twitter/X account, and he shared the value of the deal. Using DomainTools’ Domain Monitor tool, I was able to see the domain name status changed as it was unlocked and pending transfer.

This week, Rick announced the deal closed and the domain name and funds changed hands. If you visit LUV.com right now, you can see it forwards to Matrimony.com.

I reached out to Rick to ask if I could share the deal terms he originally posted in July. Rick informed me the deal terms changed a bit, as the buyer opted to make it an all-cash deal without any earn-out bonus. Unfortunately, Rick told me, the buyer insisted that the final sale price remain undisclosed. This is unfortunate because the deal would have almost certainly been one of the top few domain name sales when the year ends.

Regardless, Rick is having a great year. He also reported the seven figure sale of Prop.com and $7.1 million in additional revenue related to his 2009 sale of Candy.com, which included an ownership interest in the operating company.

  1. It’s a bit of a shame that the final sale price of LUV.com is undisclosed, as it would have likely been a significant sale in the domain world. Rick Schwartz seems to be having quite a successful year with multiple high-value sales and additional revenue from previous deals. 🎉
