How I Quickly Check My Afternic Landing Pages

Last week, I added a couple of domain names to my Afternic account. Both domain names were won in GoDaddy expiry auctions and registered at GoDaddy. One of these domain names, maddeningly, required the 3rd verification nameserver. When I finally got it listed, I noticed it was showing a different landing page than my preference, so I quickly fixed it.

It is a good idea to check on your landing pages every once in a while to ensure the correct landers are showing for each domain name. It can be a very quick process if you know what you’re doing because Afternic doesn’t make it that easy. I’ll share how I check on mine.

The first step is to view all of my domain names for sale in the Afternic control panel. I then choose the “Columns” button to select the columns I want shown. The only column I select is “Sale Lander.” This shows the landing page design for all of my domain names. Unfortunately, GoDaddy doesn’t let customers sort by landers, which would make it easier to see if any domain names are using anything other than my desired “Custom Lander.”

Because of this flaw, I export the results. This downloads a .csv file with my domain names. I can then sort alphabetically by the landing page design. This will allow me to see what domain names have sale landers that are different from what I prefer.

Typically, all of my landing page designs are correct. On occasion, I will need to fix one or two. Even though this isn’t generally an issue, it is still a good idea to check every so often. I wish Afternic made it as simple as it should be and removed the extra, unnecessary, step.
