French President Files UDRP Against EmmanuelMacron.com

The President of France has filed a UDRP at the World Intellectual Property Organization to wrest control of the EmmanuelMacron.com domain name. The case is WIPO Case D2022-0035, and it appears to have been filed this week along with four other UDRP filings.

In addition to the UDRP filed against EmmanuelMacron.com, the French President filed UDRPs against the following domain names:

The most important domain name of the bunch, EmmanuelMacron.com, is currently resolving to an OVH (domain registrar) default landing page. It does not appear to be monetized nor does it show any content related to President Macron. Macron2022.com shows the same landing page. Emmanuel-Macron.com shows a “site not installed” landing page. EmmanuelMacron2022.com shows some pay per click links (related to US politics from my browser).

I would imagine each of these domain names is owned by a different domain registrant, otherwise, multiple domain names would have been included in a single filing.

Given the lack of usage right now and Mr. Macron’s notoriety as the President of France, these are going to be interesting UDRP cases to follow.
