The Footage.com domain name has been sold for $300,000 in a deal brokered by Sedo’s Mark Ghoriafi, who is known in the industry as “Mr. Premium.” Since it was acquired, Footage.com has been developed into a platform that allows its users to “create, generate, edit, and produce content using advanced artificial intelligence technology.”
Footage.com is a great example of a one word .com domain name being both descriptive and brandable. Unlike many acquisitions that involve upgrading from a lesser domain name, the platform launched its service on Footage.com. “Footage” is not only directly relevant to video and content production but it also functions as a strong and memorable brand name for this type of platform.
Representing the seller, I am told Mark closed the deal about six weeks after the buyer first inquired. Mark connected with the buyer using a variety of channels, including email, WhatsApp messages, phone calls, and a video message he recorded while at an industry conference.
This sale adds to a strong year for Mark, who has facilitated several notable transactions so far in 2025. Mark brokered the sales of Double.com ($980,000), Pack.com ($600,000), and Dollars.com ($500,000) so far this year. Those sales, as well as this sale, are listed on the Embrace.com list of publicly reported recent one word .com domain name sales. This sale will also rank in the top 20 publicly reported domain name sales (year to date) on NameBio and DNJournal.
I think Mark maximized the sale of Footage.com, and I also think the buyer got a good price for a domain name of this caliber that is perfect for its branding. While .AI domain names have taken many headlines this year, the $300k sale of Footage.com shows that there are consumer facing AI companies that want an exceptional one word .com domain name for their business.
