Flow.com Acquired by Dapper Labs

Dapper Labs is the company behind the popular NBA Top Shot and CryptoKitties NFTs / digital collectibles and the Flow blockchain. Whois records show that the company recently acquired the Flow.com domain name, in what appears to have been a private acquisition.

The registrant change was spotted this morning by Jamie Zoch, and he shared what he found on Twitter:

For many years, Flow.com had been owned by a Swiss company called Nidecker SA. Archive.org shows the domain name had been forwarding to Flow-Bindings.com prior to the domain name changing hands. Flow Bindings is a popular snowboard binding company owned by Nidecker.

At the time of publication, Flow.com does not yet resolve to an active website. The website for the Flow blockchain is currently found on the off-brand OnFlow.org domain name. I would be surprised if that website does not transition to Flow.com in the near future.

My guess is that Flow.com was a seven figure acquisition. I sent an email to Nidecker to see if the company can share the sale price, and I will update this article if that information is shared with me.

  1. Elliot I am able to confirm that this is also one of the better quality great domains you have mentioned lately and you will not get any pushback from me if you were to speak well of it.

“My guess is that Flow.com was a seven figure acquisition.”

It would be a crime against domain names if it wasn’t at least that, not to mention a steal bigger than some people’s misconceptions about domain values.
