Fadi Chehadé Opening Speech at ICANN Durban

The 2013 ICANN meeting in Durban, South Africa opened on July 14 and runs through July 18. Embedded above is a video of the opening remarks from ICANN President and CEO, Fadi Chehadé, that were made on July 15.

If you would prefer to read Mr. ‘s speech, ICANN has uploaded a pdf of the speech transcript, and you can download it directly from the ICANN Durban meeting website.

If you are interested in following along with the ICANN meeting, the organization makes a number of other speeches, sessions, and discussions public. Some of these are archived videos, but ICANN makes it possible for people to observe the sessions remotely. Check out the meeting agenda for full details if you have an interest in seeing how the sessions are run. Meeting sessions run through Thursday.

Frankly, some of what is discussed is of no interest to me, but much of it is very important. Topics that are discussed and decisions that are made will have an impact on the business of domain investing, and it’s wise to be knowledgable about what’s being discussed.
