BettingTips.com Sold via Sedo for $150,000

Sedo hit the proverbial jackpot this week with the $150,000 sale of BettingTips.com. The sale was reported to me this afternoon in Sedo’s weekly public domain name sales report, and NameBio tweeted about the sale when it hit the Sedo RSS feed earlier this morning:

According to Whois records at GoDaddy, the current registrant of BettingTips.com appears to be a company called Ribacka Group Holding AB. A Google search shows that this is a “lead generation company” that runs “Sweden’s largest betting and casino community.” At the time of publication, BettingTips.com resolves to a generic GoDaddy landing page.

Once the sale is recorded by DNJournal, it will rank as one of the top five sales of the year to date. I would not be surprised if other gambling and betting domain names change hands this year for big amounts. It looks like a lot of money is being poured into marketing in that sector, and domain names like this one are powerful. In fact, BettingOdds.com sold in 2019 for $487,500.

  1. But most domain pros say that plural domains and names that have “ing” in them don’t sell anymore. Lol
Like i’ve said before, that way of thinking is wrong!

    Nursing.com $950k
    RazorBlades.com $500k
    BettingOdds.com $487k
    BettingTips.com $150k

    and so on.

    I rest my case.

  2. betting, casino, odds domains are fetching high sales/offers these days
i’ve had 9 nice sales in 2020 – all to endusers…i assume the spike in sales is attributed to legalization of sportsbetting in 27 states and counting in usa and the forays in usa markets by major gaming companies like william hill, betfair, and their partners, affiliates

btw…the broker team at godaddy closed 6 of my sales after 3 weeks of negotiations last week..super job by their lead team there
