One of the things I enjoy doing is creating lists of domain names to search and register. In years past, I primarily used keyword lists from various websites along with the concatenate function in Excel.
More recently, I’ve been entrusting this to AI tools like ChatGPT and Grok. To come up with domain name lists to search, I would enter a prompt that is something along the lines of this:
“Give me a list of 100 creative two word .com domain names that an AI startup might use. To give you an idea of the type of domain names I want, CoreLogic.com, MindEnergy.com, and FocalMesh.com would be appropriate. They should not be too generic because I want domain names that are currently unregistered.”
AI has really helped me find creative domain names. The downside is I haven’t had much luck selling these hand registered domain names. Perhaps my own prompting shortcomings are preventing me from finding exceptional, commercially viable domain names.
To that end, Atom.com announced what should become a handy tool to help people generate domain name ideas. They teased the launch of this Domain Hunter tool this afternoon on X:
Domain hunting is about to get unfair. 🎯
Private beta. Limited access.https://t.co/nLVd1P2Lvv pic.twitter.com/rzoDHO1goJ— Atom.com (@atomHQ) January 8, 2026
With the company’s private sales data available, I think this is a neat idea and I am excited to try it out as soon as I can.

I say bring it. At least something useful from harfard think tank.
