Atom Adds Barrier to Human-Created Logo Designs

One of the unique features of listing a domain name on Atom.com is the creation of a logo. I am not sure how much impact a logo has on the sale of a domain name, but I think it enhances their listings and can help get someone’s creative juices flowing.

When I first began using Atom, the logos were all created by designers working for the platform. In fact, users had the ability to choose a favorite designer based on the work that was done for them. I still like using logos created by that particular designer.

Over the last year or two, Atom began giving users the option to have an AI-generated logo design. In fact, the first attempt at the design was done by AI. Users could either keep the logo, redesign it with the help of AI, or pass it off to one of the logo designers. I frequently chose to send it to the logo designer because I found that I could be much more specific. For instance, I almost always like CamelCasing, and my preference is to have the extension when it’s not a .com domain name.

Yesterday, I approved a couple of listings for the platform and did not like the AI-generated logo. When I attempted to send it to one of the logo designers to CamelCase it and add .AI, a pop-up appeared that indicated it was no longer “free” to have a human design the logo for me:

In order to have a human logo designer create the logo for me, I would need to use 10 “AI Credits.” While there is no cost since I have AI credits, I imagine I will deplete these pretty quickly and be forced to decide whether I want to pay for more so I can get human-designed logos.

I think Atom’s AI has gotten better with logos lately, but I think human generated logos are better than the AI production. Hopefully this is something that can be addressed because a creative and domain name-unique logo is one of the reasons I appreciate using Atom.

  1. This is a sign of the times and things to come. I feel really bad for people who used to be able to make a living from things like that. I once bought a domain as an end user and it came with a free logo for which you could’ve tipped the designer if you wanted. I regret that I didn’t even though I haven’t been using the logo.

In our industry – yes I’m part of it despite being 99%+ end user vs. “domainer” now – there have not been many “truth seekers.” Or some who are to some degree, but not far enough. Rob Monster was a truth seeker of sorts, but also unfortunately “problematic” as we all know. Despite anything “in error” about him, Christianity is still true, the Bible, and this world will finish up and end as God has said. Rob himself may still be a real Christian despite everything. The truth is that being one is existential and ontological, not decisional, preferential, or merely some kind of fluid “demographic.” Ironically, only real Christians can even fully understand what I just wrote. I myself am no good example, and no doubt many of us will *not* be eligible to hear “well done, good and faithful servant” when it’s all over, despite being among the saved and redeemed.

I’ve sometimes noticed one or both Castello brothers are some bit of a truth seeker themselves, and apparently also Andrew Rosener to some degree.

Yes this all relates to the topic.

So long story short, AI is taking a blow torch to human labor, most especially high paid labor that used to considered the “golden ticket” in life, ironically, not just “arts and crafts.” I was already even eating doctors and lawyers for lunch myself before AI.

The plan by the “powers that be” and those who appear to be running and think they run this world is extremely dire, and it’s happening. (Be careful about constant lying, propaganda, and deliberate omissions from mainstream media.)

Although some of it may be hard to understand, being “apocalyptic” in genre while also being divinely given prophecy via a chosen prophet, if you want to see how it all turns out then read Revelation. Also read the whole “New Testament” when you can. I recommend the NASB version. In fact the 1995 version of that may possibly be better than the latest one.

Unfortunately no one can convince or persuade anyone. Only God and God alone can does do that. Nonetheless, the prophecies are true and will come to pass, just as all have always come to pass. And while it still can’t convince you, it’s worth mentioning how by some “amazing coincidence” 😉 the world is clearly racing in the direction of their fulfillment no less, especially tyranny depicted in Revelation and especially Revelation 13.
