Why I Appreciate Raider’s Feedback

If you are a frequent reader of this blog, you have likely seen comments from a person who uses the nickname “Raider.” The comments are sometimes critical of me or companies in this business, and they are occasionally biting, but I appreciate the fact that Raider posts her opinions. Most importantly though, I respect what she has to say, and I don’t believe she is trying to be hurtful when she comments.

It should go without saying, but I sincerely appreciate it when you share your insight and feedback related to articles that I publish. I learn from what you share just as much as people learn from what I share. I don’t think this blog would be as interesting as it is without the comments that readers leave and share, and I want to make sure you understand that.

I don’t always respond to comments in a friendly manner, especially when they are condescending, rude, or downright unprofessional. Even when feedback isn’t positive, I appreciate the people who take the time to share their feedback. I also don’t generally censor comments that are made (unless there are mitigating reasons that are at my discretion).

Although Raider and I don’t always agree (and we often disagree), I appreciate that she feels that it is okay to disagree with the publisher without fear of banishment, personal attacks, or comment deletion. I hope you feel the same way.

Thank you to those of you who participate in discussions on DomainInvesting.com.

  1. Oh shut-up Bull S, you have the worst reputation of any domainer…

    You have put on this facade to be funny but you come off as a desperate loser… sounds like you should write for DomainGang šŸ˜›

    • Robert T– please identify yourself and be a real man-come out of the woman’s skirt.

      Sir Elliot- I demand you give me the identity of this chicken sh_it so my attorney can file a defamation lawsuit against him for tarnishing and ruining my reputation.

      You think Trump is bad, I am MORE meaner!!

    • You really need to stop lying about that, Adam and you both acknowledged why I was banned, it was for the same reason ADAM DICKER himself wrote I would NOT be banned;

      Quote:

      “This section is a place where people can express their views freely on politics and current events.”

      Hypocrites, the both of you.

  2. I greatly appreciate the acknowledgment Elliot and apologize for my late response, In the domain industry it seems I’m either well liked or very dis-liked, usually from domainers who live with one eye open, While we both respectfully disagree with one another, the blind and intolerant interpret that as trolling, as we see one doing here.

    For those who don’t know, I began domaining in 1997 and had early success in selling to end users, my acquisitions led to my first confrontation with a guy named Michael Mann, I learned he acquired Registrars to grab domains exclusively for his company Buydomains, beating out Pool, Snap, Namewinner and others, although there was nothing illegal with what he was doing, it was by all means UNETHICAL IMO and we exchanged some rather nasty emails, Then on the PPC front, a PPC provider refused to pay me over $2000 in legitimate revenue, now a dead man who were all supposed to admire, (not me). And then we had the Mobi crowd who fooled newbies into investing in a TLD they could only SPECULATE about.

    It’s a cut throat industry were in and I feel it deserves to be exposed, that of course comes at a price, I’ve been beaten up good to the point where they attacked my kids, spouse, ethnicity, sex, you name it and they covered it, was it worth calling them out?, absolutely! Not trying to police the industry by any means, just trying to keep it clean, transparent and help prevent newbies from losing their butt on another useless TLD,

    Being provocative without personally attacking someone leads to healthy debate, it livens the discussion, stirs the pot where readers want more, A good example is the Political section on DNF, probably the most visited and interactive forum they ever had, as most know I was a huge contributor to that section, but because of an intolerant Greek who couldn’t control his temper in a Boston bombing thread, he chose to hit the ban button, and the result of that today is one very DEAD forum, Good job Mr. Intolerant.

    Some actually believe that censorship leads to a successful web site, I strongly disagree, putting tape over someones mouth is the best way to lose member participation, other members will notice and head for the exit door in lock step… Disagreement and criticism is GOOD to any discussion, this blog would be downright boring if we all agreed with one another, So I want to thank Elliot for keeping his forum (for the most part) censor free, for being objective and respectful at the same time, for his tolerance, for not allowing his ego to get in the way and having the courage to acknowledge when he’s wrong or made a mistake, with that he earns my respect.
