Whoisology Announces New Features

Users of Whoisology will be happy to learn about some new features the company recently rolled out. Subscribers to Whoisology’s newsletter received an update this evening announcing the additions they can expect to see.

Here are the highlights of the new features:

Bulk Whois – “lets you download the whois details of up to 5000 domains at once. You can download from the current archive or any of our past archives going back to 2012. The domain & email reports start at $5 per 1000 domains.

Search result filtersYou can now filter search results by both the Top Level Domain and the first letter of the domain. So for example, you could see all of the .net domains registered to the name “DNS Admin” that start with the letter “D”.

Charts – “We’ve also added charts to search results so you can see trends in the search results over time.”

The company offered more information about these additions in the newsletter, and they also announced an additional feature for paying subscribers. If you don’t subscribe to Whoisology’s newsletter, you can read it at your convenience.

  1. With DomainTools, even with the portion that was free to use, you used to be able to do a great search which would show you all the domains in a whole bunch of TLDs either beginning with, ending with, or containing your chosen word or phrase, all stacked neatly and sorted. With Whoisology, in experience this cannot be done, and at the most what you get is a completely disordered and limited list which is practically of no use in that regard. Otherwise there are certainly some nice things about Whoisology, but that kind of search is extremely important and desirable.

    • P.S. And the way in which the DomainTools info for a search like that was formatted was extremely useful and user friendly, just the SLD on the left, sorted, and a visual indicator to the right under each TLD column heading at the top.

  2. I do actually like Whoisology, but come to think of it, their information is also very out of date, and that is a major drawback at times. If you look up a .com, for instance, it says “this is from the archive of April 2017” or something like that, when the real information is much more current but Whoisology does not show you the current info.

I still appreciate some aspects of Whoisology, and I regard the way DomainTools switched over to much higher pricing without even giving a heads up or warning to previously paying people who might have wanted to get in at the previous lower price, while giving elites like Elliot here the better pricing, to have been very unpleasant, and so I have no membership there because they did that and it was just such a sour move as far as I was concerned. However, this weird way in which Whoisology has such outdated information when you do a look up really makes me ask:

    What’s up with that?

  3. And since I’m the only one commenting or giving any feedback on the topic here, why don’t y’all relax, have a seat, and let me tell you about the time I met the former President, and…
