I logged into my Network Solutions account to change the nameservers for a domain name I won at NameJet last week. I noticed a .net domain name in my account that seemed out of place: CorporateStaffing.net. The keyword was familiar because I won CorporateStaffing.com on NameJet in September. I transferred this domain name to GoDaddy about a week ago.
I searched through my email account to see if there was anything related to CorporateStaffing.net that I might have overlooked. Zero results. I did a Whois search to see if that would yield any information, and the story became even stranger. I am writing this article on Sunday, December 24, 2017. The Whois record shows a creation date of December 25, 2017 – tomorrow:
I have no idea why CorporateStaffing.net is in my Network Solutions account, nor do I know why I didn’t receive any kind of notification about the .net domain name being added to my account. This domain name has privacy enabled on the Whois record, and it forwards to (my) parked CorporateStaffing.com domain name. There are no other .net domain names in my account and this particular domain name is NOT on auto-renew.
I am baffled by this. Any idea what is happening? An early Christmas “gift” from Network Solutions and/or Verisign? My only guess is the outbound transfer triggered the .net’s registration because it was available to hand register but that is a shot in the dark. At the very least, I think the registrar should have emailed me to let me know about the domain name being added to my account.
Have a .net and .info gifted registrations. Don’t want them, wish I could press a delete or cancel button. Just nonsense.
Happened to me back in April of this year. They slipped into my account a .net of a .com I had recently won at auction. I’m guessing it’s their marketing department’s hope that you renew the domain when it’s expiring. They have done that previously with a .xyz of another .com I had won at auction as well. Pretty unprofessional gimmickry in my opinion.

I wish backorder services such as Namejet would offer an auto-transfer out feature so that upon winning a domain at auction the domain could be immediately transferred to one’s preferred registrar – rather than some obscure or undesirable one which has an interface the registrant is unfamiliar with. It can be a real administrative hassle to keep track of domains placed at a dozen different registrars.
It is a forceful practice by NetSol. I too have two .net’s added in my account.
They also remind you to renew the crap when it nears expiry. Unnecessary pain for domain owners. I hate NetSol!
Net Sol has the bar set so low that we hardly notice Godaddy’s slow descent into the muck.

As for why the domain is in your account, certainly seems like a promo that they haven’t let you know about yet. Did you check your spam folder?
Same as the .xyz nonsense, very dangerous to stick people with names they did not register into a public registry.
People still use NetSol with their inflated pricing? Or have they lowered renewal costs to compete better these days?
Only on my NameJet auction wins and when I buy a name from someone who has it registered there and the account change is easier than a transfer.

I requested that it be deleted from my account and that they donΒt give me any domain names like his in the future.
Tell them to do that when you get Loan.com or Car.com.
