What Domain Names Are You Selling?

Some people took issue with some of the names that were posted for sale on my blog by several domain brokers yesterday. There are a number of reasons why domain names are listed for sale at their asking prices, and there are reasons why brokers choose to list specific names for sale on this venue.

That aside, I thought this was a good idea from Adam in the comment section:  “In fact it’d be interesting to see (althogh I know Elliot would delete them) posted names for sale here from commenters and see how the pricing and names stacked up.”

I am interested to see what domain names you are selling and at what prices. Feel free to post your best domain names that you would like to sell at the best prices, and we can see how they stack up against the names the brokers listed yesterday. Maybe someone will see one of the names and buy it if the price is right.

I am always buying great domain names at good prices. Let’s see what you have for sale and at what prices. Keep in mind that when more than a couple urls are posted, the comment tends to get blocked by Akismet, so it might take a bit of time for your comment to be posted.

The one caveat is that if you list your names without prices, they will be deleted as soon as I can get to the delete button.

    • I dont think there should be a bias on whether you want to price your names or not. It is his blog, so that’s fine, however I argue the logic.

We should be a tight knit community and promote eachother and the space as a whole, not delete names for sale that the owner would prefer inquiries on rather than a BIN option. I understand there are other places to posts names for sale, etc…. that doesnt require BIN pricing, but whats the big deal? No one is really spamming, and if they are Akismet should catch it.

My “make offer” names shouldnt be blacklisted or regarded as me spamming anyone, Im simply showing what I buy and what is FOR SALE.

      Respectfully

    • The impetus for this thread was people ripping on the broker submitted names with prices. I am sure if the prices were different, the reaction would have been different. It’s only fair that the same rules apply for this one.

    • You’re right, probably would have been much different. My apologies for not listing prices and probably too many names. I generally prefer receiving offers and negotiation and probably should have read more closely and not posted at all…. Thats my bad (dot com) lol ; )

    • My eyes hurt. SplitTesting is the only good name I’ve seen so far. Just because you find a product name to reg and it’s available, *does not* mean it’s worth something. Half these names don’t fit with the extensions and sound like made-up catchphrases. Save your money and research what people are looking for online, and what actually sells.

    A few from here-

    DMVRegistration.com – $3,500
    HiltonHeadResort – $7,200
    SmileExperts.com – $2,500
    Burgers.net – $19,500

    • Kevin, I would reverse your prices on SMILEEXPERTS and BURGERS. SMILEEXPERTS is a great commercial name for cosmetic dentists. Can’t believe it’s available. Did you check TM’S?

  7. Ok, sticking my neck out here 🙂

    A few of mine:

    BritishRoulette.com – $ 1,200
    LuxembourgProperty.com – $2,000
    MaterialLaw.com – $750

Offer good for a week (or until sold, whatever comes first).

  8. propcash.com – $5,500
    debtsettlement.pro – $5,500
    airplaneticket.me – $1,200

Still early for .pro domains but expect great things with afilias behind them now. Of course .com and .me are also great investments.

This is a sample to share with this blog.

    • Yes, you’re right here, SerryJW. They might indeed. Even though I actually did a Trademark/Patent, etc research on the name before acquiring it, I accept that one has to be very careful with names like this. Interestingly, a US outfit has expressed an interest it! Meanwhile, I sincerely thank you for your mature approach, a.k.a. constructive critcism. Bless ya.

    • Deceased famous people have very powerful attorneys that handle the promotion of the name/likeness. You could probably own/sell it, as long as no one makes money on the name…LOL!

  15. Sooo…. the domains from yesterday are all completely overpriced? I’m out of my mind for listing LoanOfficers.com at 13,500? Ha!

Today we have seen nothing but ABSOLUTE SHIT domains. They all seem to be more overpriced (relative to the name) than most of the ones from yesterday.

No offense to anyone but I’m looking at the domains listed here and they’re ridiculous. They’re not even worth a reg fee and people are trying to sell them for $500-600 or more. These same people are the ones bitching about the price on legitimate names.

People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

    • Please don’t include me in that blanket statement. I’m not complaining about loanofficers.com I hope you get 25K for it and maybe you will with the right end user!

    Thanks once again to ElliotsBlogs.com

  31. Thanks Elliot,I know PersonlLoans.com was sold for $1M ,i decided to post this here to get the view of other folks here and to sell to any lucky buyer.

I have already seen that there is a dislike on the post,i dont know the person’s reason,i think it will be nice and more informative if the disliker will tell us his or her reason for disliking 4PersonalLoan.com at that Waaaay cheap price….LOL

Folks ,i think am having real fun here

  32. Elliot, your opinions about the domain (4PersonalLoan.com) is still making me laugh…Honestly i have learned somethings from this blog

  33. May I say something? Don’t get downhearted, because alot of successful domainers have a learning curve, and dropped thousands of domains before their success was steady. Me, I dropped hundreds.

The way Americans speak is English in the common American way . . . to add an, “s” where it doesn’t belong, or turn an, “i” into a “y” for a cute brandable, or add a number where it doesn’t make sense smacks of desparation, like when I saw CandysCane.com for sale for $100,000. You have to research Elliots blog to find the methods of selecting a good domain.

  34. Elliot,i have initially received an offer of $2100 for this name 4PersonalLoan.com from an Australian guy,but i refused it because i wanted something higher,so what do you think? this is the main purpose i posted this name here with that price.

I have decided to open up because you talked about being sarcastic. Please tell me your own honest view if i should accept the offer or not.
    Thanks.

I’m new to all this and on the learning curve—-I registered amigosbuenos.com —shared it with two brokers for feedback recently…..one never got back to me and the other gentleman was kind enough to say that it would sell eventually. Yesterday I saw buenosamigos.com on sale on that cool new bargain site for about $2,300.00

So, I’ll say I am selling:

    amigosbuenos.com 2k

  37. ftimes.co.uk 10k
    heartcare.de 7k
    storeone.org 3k
    terrapurapaints.com 2k
    truehealth.us
    cometoeurope.net
    cometoasia.net
    wentto.us
    amazingfacts.de 10k

  38. centralbankrate.com 4k
    micropaymentbank.com 10k

10% will go to Elliot´s choice of charity (RM) in case of sale 😉

  39. Elliot,Want to say thank you again for the opportunity to learn from this blog. This list of domain is valued by Estibot for $60,450 but i would want to sell the list for $15,450 only. What is your kind opinion?

Get yourself a broker, like Karen Bernstein, for Special.tv. Special.tv is a special name. Go visit AllThings.tv and post the other ones and get feedback. I like Energizer.tv for engergizer drinks. The food dot tvs are doing well. Holla Jim Holleran!!! What do you think? Chair dot tv might also be considered a premium dot tv. I like Constructing.tv . . . I have excavation.tv, but haven’t started developing it, yet.

    • Louise,
Thank you for your kind advise, this is one of the reasons i posted this here because i try to learn in any way i can.If i do not post this,i would not know about Allthings.tv and who is Karen Bernstein.

Some times when i post some domains for sale,i get some kind opinions on the better or best way to monetize them, these ways have been helping me.Its LEARNING CURVE to me.

Thank you again and have a nice weekend

    • Elliot,

I really value your blog and what you do for the domain community but your comments or replies on some of the domains listed here are cheesy.

We all know how much you know and how successful you are. We all know that you make big bucks selling domains but keep it kool.

I’m sure people who buy (bad) domains don’t buy them because they like buying “less valuable domains”, they are buying them because they believe in them or are still learning.

Yes, there are some domains that don’t make sense, but I still believe you shouldn’t discourage people but teach them and guide them in the right direction.

      Have a great weekend!

    • Which comments are cheesy? Maybe a bit of sarcasm, but not cheesy.

It’s depressing for me to have to look through hundreds of submitted domain names that I wouldn’t hand register and see people asking for thousands of dollars for them.

Anyway, I appreciate your visiting and commenting – no sarcasm, although that might be a bit cheesy 🙂

    • “It’s depressing for me to have to look through hundreds of submitted domain names that I wouldn’t hand register”

But this is the beauty – if we all would do the same thing – what would business look like, how would we do business with each other? We all would do the same thing or the same way…

    • Elliot,i know you may not understand why i said i have learned somethings from this your blog.Your comments really shows that.People like us may not be big domainer as you are,but still on the learnig curve.

Saying that it is depressing for you to look through hundreds of submitted domain names that you wouldn’t hand register and see people asking for thousands of dollars for them is not proper for someone like you whom suppose to be a guide.

If i may ask you Elliot,if all the domains listed are worthless, does it mean they dont worth 15K? if all are worthless does it mean some domains names like :

Airline.me,Airlines.me,Sofa.me,Chair.tv,Special.tv,Tonga.tv,chaise.tv,keywordtool.tv,Databackup.tv and few others in that list does not worth thousands of dollars?

Or does it mean that the person who offered $2100 for 4PersonalLoan.com was insane? I think Dnjournal has some info about these.

Well,i know that there are some domains that are sold for 6 figures that you will not be willing to pay even low 5 figures for.Its like that,so i still always say and believe that i and some people here are still learning which is why i said i needed your kind opinion, but you disappointed me with your domain guru comments.Have a nice weekend.

    • This wasn’t an appraisal article and I have no interest in offering my opinion on valuation for individual domain names.

I wrote this because many people were critical of the broker submitted names/prices, and I wanted there to be a comparison.

If you want tips on buying and selling names, there are plenty of them in the 3,000+ articles. This is not one of those posts.

Maybe this week I will post an article where people can request appraisals, although that won’t be pretty.

    • Elliot,
What you just explained now is completely different from your comments and its meaning, you should have told me/us that this is not place for domain appraisal simple, but you were only saying that it is depressing for you to look through hundreds of submitted domain names that you wouldn’t hand register and see people asking for thousands of dollars for them.

Your comments was only trying to say that non of the domains on that list worth thousands because you would not pay hand reg fee of $10 for them..LOL.

Like i will always say,i have learned so much here even from your comments which has given me the opportunity to know allthings.tv

      Merci.

    • Elliot gave a global domain ‘appraisal’. If you think his straight forward comment applies to your domain(s) you should be grateful because if you listen, it will save you lots of time by not hanging onto mediocre domains.

    • Yes,am very greatful and that is why i said its learning curve to me,but he took the wrong approach for someone of his status, and he his believing he did the right thing the right way probably because he think he is now a domain guru

    • Acro,
Rick Schwartz has spoken so well on that blog and i like the statement below made by him:

If you are a domainer that thinks your domains will be less valuable in the future, YOU ARE A VICTIM! Hook, line and sinker. Spit out the bait you fool before it is too late and you swallow it.

    • IMO the only names that you can sell are:

      .com
      .ca
      .net
      .me
      .org

I’ve included .ca in there because I am Canadian. .CAs go for 20-50% the value of a .com. .net’s are about 10%, .me 5% and .org 1%. Of course most not-for-profits are going to ask for their .org as a donation.

I’m sure there are other national domain endings, such as .eu and .uk that command a premium. But other than that, nobody is going to bother with the hassle of buying these absolutely horrible names.

      I own:

      ACURA.me
      ELECTED.me

and a few others. ACURA.ME is probably worth something if I could sell it into the right hands (Toyota.me sold for $90K in 2008 and .me’s have appreciated since then). ELECTED.ME as in “you elected me” i’d take $2,000.

  41. Agreed Elliot – but therein lies the opportunity for smart domainers. Most people don’t know HorseS*T from gold when it comes to domains. An inefficient market with weak players is a golden goose for the smart domainer with capital.

  44. I, too, am sorry you are disappointed, Elliot, with some of the names we’ve been throwing out on this thread. 🙁

Actually, I am kind of confused, because sometimes domain brokers are asking for names not yet on the market and such, from what I am gathering from some of the things I’ve read—-so I am not sure what to open up and what to not disclose or even try to sell.

But, I will say, that one night I had a really good time hand registering about 15 two word cuss word dot com’s in Spanish. Several were already taken, but http://www.perrasricas.com was not. 🙂

    • Patti,
I think the reason Elliot dont see any meanings in our domains is because our names is not among the popular/big names that have sold big domains so far.

I dont think he can be bold to say that he is depressed in any domain listed by Ricks(domain king)and others…Such is the situation here.So lets take heart.. LOL

    • Elliot is true, and you don’t have to find fault with any of his opinions. Elliot gives away ALOT on his blog. Not just that, but you yourself may agree with him in a year’s time.

It took me a while to get the point of dot com for the US. I thought, “You can build on anything,” but, dot com domain has the authority. Now, if the dot com is already reserved in a term I want, I skip it! Why should I build traffic which will default to dot com? Still, I like dot tv. Elliot doesn’t invest much in dot tv, but other people may like your dot tvs! Check out, shoes.tv . . .

    • Just came back to the computer—-saw some posts—and realized: Not only is Elliot a great domainer he is ALSO a great teacher—–Elliot—you are really making us think and push us fprward. I am so grateful to be part of this blog. 🙂 I look forward to reading it daily.

    • Yes Louise,i dont dispute that fact, but from my own opinion,he acted the wrong way as if he learned everything about domaining in a day.

Another thing there is that,he should not think the .tv,.me and other extentions with good keywords dont have value just because he does not invest in them. These are my points. If i feel i have known much about domaining,i dont think i will come to his blog to post my domains the way i did,i did that because i hope to have people’s opinions as i learn everyday which is why the industry is making meaning to me everyday.

Louise thanks again,i appreciate your unbias sense of judgement.

    • By reading the posts from Elliot AND others who post here, I have come to the conclusion that with the influx of all the new extensions to be released that dot coms will become most valuable. But, that is only a hypothesis. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. 🙂

  46. My MobileTech.tv had a peak of over 8,000 uniques in June! You can build a blog on dot tv . . . but I redirect MobileTechTV.com to the site, because I learned from domainers to reserve the tv dot com of my dot tv.

Justintv.com sold for some $32,000 on eBay.
Concert.tv dropped the dot tv, but maintains its site on ConcertTV.com, so it shows dot com is important!

    • Am already making arrangements to develop my .coms domain which i hope to keep for long time, but my intention of getting the .tv .me and others are to sell or develop some and do some little seo jobs on them for short term period and sell them off just for little or more profit.

You can see why i say am here because i sure hope to have people that have passion to advise you on what is the best for your domains when you list them…

I have already been discussing with good domain developers like Tia Wood and others for professional sites and at the same time learning to get the best

  48. @Paul Omego
What ever is the motive here, The facts are there is a buzz which means more traffic more traffic more revenue from the sponsors.
yes, for sure elliotsblog has been a good help for domain community but after all its Domainers like us who have stood side by side with this blog. Not to forget the shit head from .co
who spoke rude against the domaniers and the he get ass to his face.
This post is also a great way to find out how many pro domainers are really taking part in this discussion and how many are newbies. There is a great opportunity for all of us to understand where the intrest of traffic stands.

  49. BTW:

For those interested in owning a domain close to Elliots:

Elliot owns sharedwebsitehosting.com, and I am offering:

    sharewebsitehosting.com $ 450

For only $450 you own one close. I know he must have paid much more for his, and it’s a better name, still for $450 you can’t lose.

    s@magicfta.com

    • Oh that’s even better, it’s marketable then.

It still shows you as owner, I don’t know why, perhaps they didn’t change it yet.

    • Another thing I learned here is that keyword strings have to make sense. sharewebsitehosting? What does it mean? Unless you’re trying to ‘play’ off a spelling mistake—-which is sloppy domain design, imo. To me, that name is of no value and I wouldn’t be bothered trying to sell it.

    • Apparently, I still own it.

Sorry, but your name makes no sense. Out of billions (well, probably trillions) of pages online indexed by Google, there are only 73 pages that have “share website hosting.” On the other hand, there are 659,000 for “shared website hosting.” Just because it looks similar, doesn’t mean it’s worth anything.

    • I think sharedwebsitehosting makes complete sense, because it implies it is a service where you get to use a shared server. There is a billion dollar industry that performs this service.

sharewebsitehosting is asking me to share my website hosting with someone else. Share Website Hosting. Why do I want to do that and is there any money in it? No.

    • According to Elliot above, 73 pages have it indexed; according to Domain king Rick Schwartz, it’s like opening your store and having 73 people walk in. You only need one person to buy the name. Take a look at how many domainers make money following the preachers of strict trend. Share website hosting is inviting you to share the cost of website hosting; shared website hosting is telling you above the practice itself. it’s six on one hand, and half a dozen in another. If you think that subtle difference warrants you to spend thousands, perhaps tens of thousands to buy the past participle, over spending $450 for the present participle, then be my guest.

  50. Elliot, let me explain something to you:

I develop chains of domains into websites, so sometimes I register strings and strings of names, not that all will be developed or sold, some will be eventually dropped. For example:

I have these deveoped, but only the first one (StateofNigeria.com)in the following list is being promoted now, and it’s doing great with 0ver 1386 members already in a few months and good income:

    StateofNigeria.com <–promoted 1386member
    soul.fm
    VeryCanadian.com
    VeryJamaican.com
    VeryCuban.com
    cAustralia.com
    jMexico.com
    AcrossUnitedKingdom.com
    BrazilBrazilBrazil.com
    AcrossUnitedStates.com
    and hundreds more…

The names may not be your typical forum sales name, they are not meant to. I get more action from just soul.fm than most blogs on domaining. Check out:

    http://www.StateofNigeria.com

    for an example

    • Uzoma,i dont understand that post clearly, what is that name all about? is it free membership? hope to check the site when am back online.
      Thanks.

    2. The second is simple – What would Rick Schwartz sell it for it if he had had the foresight to get it in early 2001 like I did?

    3. The third is more scientific – I took the estibot appraisal value and multiplied it by a factor of 5.

Context Example: He was flabbergasted when he saw the quality of domains and prices posted on Elliot’s blog.

  57. Here is what my short list would look like today:

    ChelseaRealEstate.com – $12,000
    TacomaRealEstate.com – $9,000
    ChineseProverbs.com – $7,000
    PetCollars.com – $8,000

  58. Domainer,

SkinClinics.com was not posted as an error. It is for sale for $997.

My email is as follows (without the dashes)

    T-Hallewell-@hot-mail.com

The nameservers have not been updated but I would be happy to do so prior to being paid if it means anything to you.

You are the second person to state an intention to purchase today but I have not yet heard back from the first person.

Get in touch if you are interested.

The domain will be sold to the first person that finalizes the deal.

    Thanks.

    Troy

    • “Am I crazy to ask for those prices I like to hear you.”

You have a few nicer domains names but if you expect Elliot or another domainer to pay your asking prices….. kinda scary.

You are selling to two groups per se…..”endusers” and “domainers”.

Domainers need some meat on the bone to make a profit or for an investment and endusers may find a better domain or equal quality at lower pricing.

      Good luck.

  62. I´m a developer/SEO, not a domainer. Here are a few domains I acquired for different projects (mainly .co and .net). Would be willing to sell for the prices listed below.

    Spanish domain, translation: englishforkids.net
Keyword data: 27,100 monthly searches for “ingles para niños” (exact match)
