  1. Writing about Name.com it seems something critical and dangerous for the their users as myself and my online project, Domains International.

The first year of my subscrition things runned very well in all aspects. Suddedly (maybe due some changes in there) things started to be worst and awful. I give some examples:
    1-COMMUNICATION
Unlikely other web sites they have no chat but generally communications worked by email quite reasonable. Now, if we sent a ticket with a question they delayed the response and when they reply, there is different colaborators of Name.com to reply what is very strange as they reveal to not even know what we are talking about.
    2-DOMAINS NAMES LISTINGS
The domains are ours but they do what they want with domains, do not respect the grace period and send the domains to other web sites for sale (SEDO for example). Can you imagine if someone want to buy that domain and at the same time i renew the domain he/she saw on SEDO?
Besides, we are transfering our domains to other registrars. What they do? They made the transfer but after the transfer they keep the domains listing on the account? Examples: needloan.de, getloans.de and other domains already transfered to Dynadot ar kept in my account on Name.com. I questioned them and they simply replied: no problem you can ignore it.
Result: The referred domains are listed in two registrar accounts, one real and other a “ghost”.
    3-WARNINGS ABOUT DOMAINS EXPIRING
Also unlikely other registrars like GoDaddy and many others, they do not simply notice us about expiring domains. They threatened us with phrases like this “you have 12 days to renew it, if you donĀ“t renew you will be sad”. Exactly like this.
    4-SURVEYS TO SEND FEEDBACKS
Regularly (now more than in the past) they are sending surveys or forms to send feeback about their work when they receive emails to complaint about their own service as really BAD. They do not respond or reply with another subject and sent constantly those surveys. What can we tell them more we tell by email? How many surveys they want to say that they are really BAD, the worst of registrars?
5-We transfered domains from other registrars yerars ago because they made a promotion and had 7.99 for the main extensions. After one year how they act with customers? They increased the renewals to 10,99. This is not right and not fair.

Hope you Elliot Silver show the real difference with Name.com. Sadly i have in there some domains yet.
Probably they will ignore the complaints and criticism on them but the facts are documented.

    Regards to Elliot

  2. I don’t have good experience with Name.com or any other registrar outfit, except Godaddy. A few years ago, when I bought my first domain name and setup my first website, I was advised to use Godaddy. I continue to believe Godaddy is a prefer destination for web newbies and pros alike. Go Daddy! šŸ™‚
