UDRP Filed Against KGP.com (Updated)

KGP.com UDRPWhen I was looking at UDRPSearch.com this afternoon, I noticed that a UDRP was filed against KGP.com, a valuable three letter .com domain name. Because the UDRP was filed at the National Arbitration Forum, the complainant is not publicly known and likely won’t be known until a decision is published. This is case #1685573.

According to Whois records, the domain name is currently registered to an entity called “KGP INTERNATIONAL LIMITED.” The domain name has a creation date of July 25, 1995. The landing page on KGP.com says “A new project is coming to you. Revolutionizing Social Media.” There are no pay per click links or other advertising that I could see on the domain name when I checked this afternoon.

I did a Google search for KGP, and it looks like there are quite a few companies that use the KGP initials in their company name. I checked the USPTO for KGP, and I see three live marks with “KGP” in them and two dead marks with “KGP” in them.  There are also many people and some organizations whose initials are KGP as well.

Since the NAF does not publish the name of the entity that filed the UDRP, I won’t even guess what entity filed this UDRP.

As a domain owner who has owned several LLL.com domain names, it is always frustrating to see a UDRP filed against a valuable three letter .com domain name. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, and I will update this article once a decision is rendered.

Update: Complaint was denied.

  1. Looks like the same landing page is used across most domains owned by Michael Gleissner, e.g. Q.net, OE.com, CD.net and others. I believe he sold Kit.com. He has hundreds of LLL .com domains. A UDRP against valuable domains can be challenging.
