TextBroker.com: My Secret Weapon

The biggest problem with owning a number of websites is writing content for them. Content is what drives traffic, and traffic is generally the key driver for advertising, and you need to have fresh content for SEO and to continue to drive additional traffic to your website.

I’ve used Elance for copy writers before, and I’ve also hired them in private from posts on Craigslist and on forums, but I have been MUCH more satisfied with the work from TextBroker.com. They are fast, they aren’t too expensive, and most importantly, they are proficient. You also don’t have to worry about hearing excuses from copywriters about why their work won’t be on time.

I’ve probably had about 300 articles written by TextBroker writers for my websites, and I’ve only needed to have two re-written. One of those articles was because I had a fairly lengthy article request on a topic that was pretty small, and the writer rambled…  I can’t say that I really blame him for that though.

The only time I won’t use TextBroker.com is on my blog. It would be difficult for a copywriter to have expertise on something specific like domain names, and I think if I posted an article that was written by someone else, the grammar and tone might give it away. I suppose that’s because my blog is more personal than my other sites, and it has readers know me personally.

TextBroker.com charges somewhere between $5.00 – $10.00 for average size articles of about 200-350 words that are written proficiently. It’s a privately funded, venture-backed company that TechCrunch recently covered.

If you need website articles written, I would recommend TextBroker.com. In fact, I had 10 articles written for SlipperyElm.com in less time than it’s taken for the domain name to be transferred to Moniker.

  1. I usually go the cheaper route and get my articles from myblogguest.com. It’s marketplace for people who are looking to have their blog posts published, in return for a link back to their site. It’s called ‘guest posting’

  2. Thanks for the tip as thus far I have been disappointed by attempts to outsource even something as simple as a directory submission commentary. Trying to do everything solo means content updates tend to be infrequent.

  3. will check this out, have used some independents in the past found at dp forum…I see a big future for the content creation market as its so important to web visibility these days

  4. Hey! Wait just a domainer minute there!

You mean there’s a real “Elliot” behind the curtain?!

That all these posts aren’t provided by others!?

    Who knew?! 😉

  5. I read a small notice about textbroker in one previous post from you. Tried it, and really like it! Will not go back to ordering crap articles from forums ever again.

  6. Elliot,
I’m glad you’ve had such success with TextBroker.com. In full disclosure, I am the CEO of a competitor (vWorker.com). If for some reason you ever would like to try an alternative, we also have thousands of writers and can do it for you much cheaper (TextBroker.com charges 30% while we charge from 15% to as low as 6.5%). You can also take advantage of our free triple point money back guarantee(100% to contract, on time and in the industry expected mannter or your money back).

  7. I am going to have to give them a try I have a big English essay due soon I really dont want to do! Just kidding but thanks for sharing. Do they let use the same writer again if you really like their work?

  8. I started using TextBroker a couple of months ago and like Johan said I won’t go back ordering content from forums or other freelance sites like elance, odesk or vworker.

I’m glad you found something you like that works for you…even if it isn’t us. Is there anything specific about problems or issues on vWorker that you ran into that you’d like to give us feedback on? We are always looking to learn and improve the service.

  10. Timely post, Elliot.

On a suggestion from a fellow domainer (Chad over at ChargingStations.com), I ordered about 6 articles from TB yesterday. Christina was exceptionally helpful in walking me through the process for the first time and the quality of the writers I reviewed (L4) were very good. They have hundreds of L5 writers and thousands of L4 writers, so who knows what I’ll get back, but will post an update in a few days. Even if it just gets me content I can quickly edit, it will be worth the price.

  11. Even as a writer myself, I find that it will be better to pay for articles. After a slough of writing binges over the past few years, I want to write content I prefer.

Writing companies charging only $5-10 per 300-350 words pay their writers cheap. 300-350 is one page double spaced. Depending on how quick a writer produces work, it may take them between 30-60 minutes to write the article. Some may take longer if they have to cite, or locate sources.

The site definitely offers good minimum wage work for writers. There are several writing opportunities that will pay writers more money. I don’t see how textbroker.com can maintain a professional team with charging such low rates.

Thanks for sharing the writing company. The prices are extremely competitive. I don’t think there are as many companies that are able to compete against the textbroker.com.

  12. Im going to be in the market for stacks of content over the next few years I think, I have stacks of prodserv, small tourist geo, informational domain names I want to develop.
So far Ive been reasonably satisfied with results from writers I have contracted privately – however my efforts to try and make the process less time-consuming for me have so far been largely thwarted.
What I would really love is to be able to give someone/group a domain name, 5-10 titles, some keywords and a few additional notes and they get back to me within the day with a price and completion date within a reasonable time (say 1 week MAX – Im happy to wait a little longer for better work and bulk pricing). If I think its a deal then I’d forward the funds if using a trusted system, or receive the content and then forward the funds, thats negotiable of course.
Perhaps I should check out vworkers and/or textbrokers and see if thats what Im looking for.
Ive made some good contacts contracting privately – but I find I end up spending more time specifying the job in hand than it would have taken for me to just suck it up and do it myself!

  13. Thanks for the advice – I am going to put an order into TextBroker to see how they work out. I have been using 99centarticles.com (that’s their rate per 100 words) for past 18 month and have had exceptional quality from them – a little slow on delivery however.

  14. TextBroker.com has been pretty reliable since I started using them about 2 years ago… Very organized system and you definitely can’t beat the rates and quality your getting from an actual business service perspective. Just don’t choose the lowest quality on your orders and you’ll get ’em quick and usable.

  15. In a different article you referenced that you would spend around $75 – $100 for the SlipperyElm.com content. If that’s what it wound up being with TextBroker then I’d say you definitely got your money’s worth, especially considering that in 2 months or so SlipperyElm.com has achieved an Alexa rating of 820K.

  16. Hello everyone!

I myself am a writer for textbroker. I have completed about 200 articles and have never received a rejection or had any problems with clients. I write on a wide range of topics and have plenty of experience with search engine optimization and web design. I am currently looking for more work. I charge two cents a word, so I am fairly cheap and I deliver timely, quality content. If you would like me to write content for your blot or website you can contact me at saxophone967@gmail.com
