Sold for $26.5k, RealEstateLeads.com Expires

According to NameBio, RealEstateLeads.com sold for $26,500 in November of 2017. A blog post from NameBio shows that it was the second largest sale of the day on November 16. The domain name was created in October of 1998, making it over 20 years old.

This morning when I was looking at GoDaddy Auctions, I noticed that RealEstateLeads.com is one of the top expiry auctions coming up in the next couple of weeks. The high bid is $1,200 with just over 9 days remaining in the auction.

When I visited the domain name this morning, I saw a message stating that the domain name expired and is coming up for auction at GoDaddy Auctions:

A Whois search and Historical Whois search at DomainTools shows the domain name has been registered under privacy proxy, so it is unclear who owns the domain name. It is also unclear who bought the domain name last year because of the Whois privacy. In fact, the domain name appears to have had Whois privacy enabled since 2014.

I am not sure if the registrant still has time to renew the domain name before the auction. It is peculiar to see a domain name sell for five figures and then expire within a year.

  1. That is a powerful RE Industry name. Can’t imagine someone knowingly letting it expire. Either poor domain inventory management, a stupid or spiteful employee, an estate, or ?.

If anyone is interested, I have RealEstatePostcards.com available.
