SEO Play Using WhyPark

I’m not sure if others are doing this, although I am sure there are plenty of people who are. I registered several long tail keyword domain names related to one of my websites. In lieu of spending time building a mini site, I used WhyPark to rapidly deploy several websites.

On each of the websites, I added a couple of links – one to the main page on my website and another to a sub-page that the visitor to the site would be interested in finding. The longer tail keywords aren’t all that competitive, and my hope is that I will essentially have two websites in the top of the results page.

I will do a bit of link building for each of these mini websites, and I will not link to them from my blog or other related website, where the cross-linking could possibly be tracked and a relationship detected.

I don’t know if it’s going to add “link juice” to my primary site, but the long tail domain names would be valuable in an of themselves, and it’s much easier for me than building individual sites.

Also similarly related, I am close to selling a domain name that I put to sale using WhyPark just a few weeks ago. A real estate agent from California contacted me and we are working out a deal.

  1. Congrats on your real estate domain flip.

You’ll laugh at this one. So I just picked up the expired domain BeverlyDentist.com. I’m thinking this should be an easy flip because … drum roll please … there’s a children’s dentist using the domain name BeverlyPedo.com. Seriously – I can’t make this stuff up. I laughed a gut when I saw that. It appears the dentists are foreign and most likely don’t realize what “pedo” means. Kicker is, I can’t get them to return my calls or emails. They need to change domains for their website quickly, it’s gotta be killing their business. What mother is going to bring their kid to a pedo dentist?

  2. I like the concept, but a couple of points:

    1. WhyPark is not my favorite service right now. Several of my sites got kicked to the curb by Google even though they were exact match .com’s and I had spent time adding unique content on them.
    2. Just be smart with the links. Links in the footer or in a blog roll won’t be given as much weight ss links inside chunks of unique text that contains relevant content. Standard link building ruies apply.
    3. I would recommend DevHub for these types of sites, though there are some caveats such as their review process before you can add tons of sites (and I wouldn’t recommend relying on their ad feed, just use your own). The advantage is that it’s much easier to build out dozens of pages of “unique” content using DevHub’s system and it’s all free. My DevHub sites rank very well for their keywords.
    4. There’s going to be a natural limit to this before all the links pointing to your “hub” site are coming from a single ip range and then it all goes “poof”. If you do it in small degrees though, it works.

  3. WhyPark, DevHub, Octane360 and SmartName are the ones I think of off the top of my head. I’ve not used octane360, but I’ve used all of the others. I like SmartName and DevHub the most. I’ve unsubscribed to the premium whypark service.
