Rick Schwartz Signs Off of Twitter

In the wake of Mike Berkens’ @TheDomains Twitter account being hacked / hijacked and the lack of support from Twitter in helping to expediently recover the account, it looks like Rick Schwartz is no longer going to post on Twitter. He wrote what appears to be a goodbye tweet earlier today:

Rick stopped regularly publishing articles on his popular blog (RicksBlog.com) in 2014. Within the last several months, Rick began using Twitter to share domain industry thoughts and insights. It was an opportunity for people to chat with Rick and read his insights about domain names, cryptocurrency, and other related topics.

Hopefully 2018 will start with Mike Berkens regaining full control over his @TheDomains Twitter account and perhaps Rick will reconsider his departure from Twitter. I think we all benefit from his insights and sharing, and it would be a shame to miss out on that again.

  1. What a coincidence, my Twitter account self-destructed as well before Christmas. 🙂
    Bye bye Twitter!
Have a Great New Year folks! 😉 Happy 2018 everyone!

    • Yes Elliot, We think Rick well be missed on any Platform that he is not Enriching with his Knowledge. From day one that I experienced his Constructive Attitude, I said Yes this is the Constructive Force people can relate to. He is the One source of Unification this world craves, and needs now especially, with the Break Everything Attitude of Silicon Valley Mentality. It is our sincere hope that he restarts Traffic, and also centralizes his thoughts back to RicksBlog, which in our opinion is a historical treasure chest of Knowledge. Will anyone else second this ? JAS

  2. So who will use the handle next?

I would strongly suggest he simply log in again (reactivating the account) and just delete the tweets, hold an empty account essentially and keep it “active”. That way when it drops no one can use it or pretend to be him or parody.

Sometimes we make quick decisions but don’t think it all the way through 🙂
