  1. sari.com, sari.org, sari.co.uk, sari.in, sari.us, sari.biz

    IndianJewelry.com … recent godaddy auction

I acquired ALL the “sari” domains from all different people separately.

Sari is an indian outfit worn by ALL indian women.

I am planning on launching sari.com in mid-2012.

  2. BandsList.com – For the Craigslist style band member listing/wanted service that I might (one day) develop.

As a musician this is probably my favourite of a few recent acquisitions.

  3. I’m still waiting for the seller to transfer the domain over to Sedo from the greatdomains auction last week…

    I smell another rat seller.

    Nice buys, Elliot.

  4. 1. TripsCuba.com via drop to go with my developed CubaTrips.com site.

    2. PinarDelRioHotels.com and several other Cuba hotel related domains.

    3. Mariel.com purchase was several months ago but I am very happy with this purchase. It’s a big port in Cuba currently under development as an international shipping port and famous for the 1980 Mariel boat lift. Mariel Hemingway granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway, is named after this port in Cuba.

    4. CubaBroadcasting.com to go with my developed Cuba.fm music site

    5. PrivateRestaurant.com to go with my PrivateRestaurants.com domain that points to my HavanaRestaurants.com developed site.

Sorry if this post was too much self promotion. I would like to read about other acquisitions and reasons for purchase for other people.

  5. @Elliot,

    Nice acquisitions, really like WorldTours.com

    @Anunt,

Sari.com is category killer for Indian sari market, I know it just like you because of my Indian origin. Saree is also common.

Many Indian Hindi words have two spellings in English just shaadi and shadi for wedding/marriage etc.

IndianJewelry.com is good but the Jewelry spellings are American.

Btw, I have lots of Indian Jewellers names mostly targeted to major Indian cities.

Some of our recent acquisitions are major Indian adult keywords with TV and Tube dot-com domains.

Do you have other Indian names, because we have over 1500 India related domains in many categories even few adult keywords.

  6. We recently bought below domains:

    FreshDesign.com
    Overdrafts.com
    CorpTravel.com
    WomanPerfume.com
    Airlines.PRO
    UltraCash.com
    Arsenic.net
    Stopjunk.com
    BonusRoulette.com
    CarsMarket.com

Nice buys, Elliot. I like WorldTours.com

  7. I got PlasticSurgeryDeals.com few months ago, got quite a few offers so far and a major medical/surgery loan financing company has sent inquiry just this morning. It surprises me that the domain was available for hand registration.

  10. No acquisitions the last six weeks at least as I have stepped back into finance/accounting again. Strangely I sold more domains in a month in November than at any point in the prior five years. However, one October acquisition whose auction lock expired this past week at ENOM is another Florida geo…

    CapeCoral.tv

  12. I bought the domain/site assets for Falconers.com from the original registrant recently, since I’m getting interested in Falconry. Haven’t gotten around to rebuilding the site, but probably will do that here soon. It’s a bit trickier than a ground-up build since we’ll have SEO migration issues with the established content.

That purchase was, without a near competitor, the single most aggravating domain transaction I’ve *EVER* had. I am someone who kind of specializes in plucking domains ‘from the wild’ and dealing with otherwise unsavvy parties so I’m used to significant hand-holding, but this one took the cake.

I’ll tell the story someday. It was just awful, but thankfully, turned out OK in the end.

  13. My prefered name is also WorldTours.com from that list.

Sari.com is a name I tried to acquire in the past, I certainly not offered as much as Anunt as I was valuating it as a CVCV.com and not as a generic. Plus I had no development plan on it, just searching another candidate for Catchy.com so I was acting as a reseller.

Last month I exchanged Plans.com with Split.com, it’s rare to succeed to convince another domainer to exchange you a domain even if I admit it’s a path I often try when I don’t have enough cash to acquire a domain I really want.

This purchase pushed me to acquire last week Swapping.com where I would like to offer in the future a platform to facilitate domain swapping.

  14. I “acquired”:

    SHAREWEBSITEHOSTING.COM <– well
    USHAPEDTABLE.COM <– conference tables
    ANGRYLADIES.COM <– think angrybirds
    OTABLES.COM <– round tables
    CHOREMEN.COM
CORDINSURANCE.COM <– Dicker will need this
    VERYGREEK.COM
    VERYCUBAN.COM
    VERYCANADIAN.COM
    CURSINGDOLL.COM <—also got cursingbabydolls.com
SOUPENA.COM <- soup for all – Lawyers and Prisoners alike

  15. Worldtours.com and bookfest.com are phenomenal domain names. Nice purchases.

I decided to get in on the .xxx domains and purchased these a couple of weeks ago when the public was first allowed to purchase domains.

    handcuffed.xxx
    shameful.xxx
    sleazy.xxx
    casualencounters.xxx
wetpu**ies.xxx (wasn’t sure if I could or should actually put the term in)
    teenfacials.xxx

  16. Last month I exchanged Plans.com with Split.com

You got plans or traded plans?

Once upon a time, I did some work for the guy who ran AmazingPlans.com (on an unrelated project).

It was during the go-go years of real estate/building and that market is obviously very distressed right now, but there are some pretty sick $$ models for a domain name like that.

  17. DISPOSABLETABLET.COM
    DISPOSABLETABLETS.COM
    PHONEPRIVACYLAW.COM
    DISTRACTEDDRIVINGTICKET.COM
    DISTRACTEDDRIVINGTICKETS.COM
    INATTENTIVEDRIVING.COM
    INATTENTIVEDRIVINGLAWYER.COM
    INATTENTIVEDRIVINGTICKET.COM
    WEEKENDBEFORECHRISTMAS.COM
    MEGACYBERMONDAY.COM

  18. My humble stuff (not recent though):

routy.com : I had a logo design for that so I back ordered it on GoDaddy, now it’s on BrandBucket (guess I’m lucky to be the only one bidding publicly).

TabletSync.com : Another back order I had to make after my 1yr old 4fig sale of PadSync.com, “Tablet Sync” searches are growing against “Pad Sync” since the market now has “tablets” not just “iPads” like it used to.

Shleep.com : not an acquisition, but I just can’t believe I found this unregistered.

  19. @Anunt – I live in Bali, and in Indonesian Sari means “Pure” and is a huge deal here also. It is the suffix to so many brand names ie: NutriSari (fruit juice), AdemSari (medicine), and countless more. Thought you might want to know.

@Elliot – Now you need to get Mikveh.com, and later MikvehLifeguard.com

  20. @Anunt, also note that Indonesia has a massive population although I think India and China are the two that beat it. Jakarta is also massive.

  21. Hey…some nice catches you folks…..best of luck with them.
    I reg’d exactsearchterm.com
It will be supportive of our upcoming “inameonly.com” a site that will try to educate smb’s that : names matter, but domain names matter most!!!!
    Lots of longtail geos….here goes……..!

  22. “Plans.com was traded by Francois for Split.com”

That’s the dumbest trade in history!
Whomever got plans.com from Francois cleaned his clock.
It’s not even close. Damn, how come I never get deals like that, especially from Francois, I’d really like to clean his clock.

  23. In the last 30 days:
    Tokers.com
    TabletCentral.com
    ProjectBroker.com
    BoosterPack.com
    Rampagers.com
    Picks.TV
    WebConferencing.info
    CulinarySchool.info
    Gazette.me
    Magnify.me
and a few other misc. names

Some really nice names people have picked up lately.

  24. Have to agree with Uzoma.

Hopefully it was Plans.com for Split.com + CASH and bars of gold.

Very lopsided deal on the order of Michael Jordan for Spud Webb.

Here are my reg fee catches from today:

    martensitic.com
    tonification.com
    sofabedwithstorage.com
    makeupquotes.com
    remoulins.com
    salaar.com

    And these for under $74:

    mesothelium.net
    calculatorrefinance.com
    trentonautoinsurance.com

  25. All hand-regs

    Macronic.com
    HolidaySurprices.com
    QuantumScreen.com
    Kaeff.com
    Troci.com
    Tavoz.com
    Paaci.com
    MegaDiagnostics.com
    SnowMotors.com

    Purchased powergrid.org

    Bookfest.com is a great name!

  26. Really like world tours.com as well.

    ManagedServicesCloud.com
    AppMavens.com

    Happy Holidays all!

    Mike

  27. Yes that’s true that Plans.com has much more uses then Split.com but it’s what I needed for my project (I was an end-user in this case) and the owner was not willing to let it go except I came with a huge offer I was unable to make.

As I said, it’s rare domainers accept to swap domains, because anyone will not accept to make a swapping if the domain proposed has not much more value than your and it’s often what happen. Everyone was glad of the deal, me who get the exact domain I wanted and the other party that get a name that he should better sell,a win/win situation.

Apply the domain exchange was also difficult:
Without want to self advertise, ECOP.com is I think the only escrow service that secures domain swapping transactions but it was not possible to use an escrow I own. So I had a lawyer write me the exchange agreement and after came the moment of do the swapping. But who start? The agreement is nice, but if the other party change his mind at the last minute or is not serious, it can take months or years of legal battle to get my domain back. As I suggested the deal and was the most motivated then I decided to make the first step by pushing my domain to the other party. But I have to admit my stress was at top until the other party reciprocated.

For anyone else this part should now be risk free.

  28. @elliot Nice acquisitions, my favorites are WorldTours and SharedWebsiteHosting. For the second there is only few monthly searches but CPC is great.

@Ben, looks like you have done the best acquisitions from the list. I fallowed some few of your auction you won and numbers where relatively high for some names.

  29. Hi Mike,

If you are looking for high CPC, I have a good one for you at over $21.00! Visit the page, and a decent offer and it’s yours.

    500000LifeInsurance.com

  30. I have acquired recently some visit*.com and trade*.com domains like e.g.

    VisitHonshu.com
    VisitSavoy.com
    VisitCastile.com

    TradeWithGermany.com
    TradeWithFrance.com
    TradeWithBRIC.com

    TradeAtNYSE.com
    TradeAtLME.com
    TradeAtLSE.com

and one which I am especially happy about:
    EuReport.eu

  31. I bought CREWS.XXX and have developed into real porn site with adult affiliated programes. It’s on live now.

    Also hand regged:

    Plumbers.xxx
    Sailors.xxx
    Footballers.xxx
    Fireman.xxx
    Tradies.xxx
    Surfers.xxx
    LockerRooms.xxx

  32. Worldtours.com is a great purchase. I imagine the stress that francois must have felt when transferring the plans.com domain without any certainty.

How much did the guy that got sari.com pay for it?

  33. These are just a few of my recent HandRegs

    JobsInColoradoSpringsCO.com
    RiverboatCruisesEurope.com
    RiverboatCruisesUSA.com
    RestaurantsInFresnoCA.com
    383StrokerKit.com
    LimoServicesinBuffaloNY.com

  34. I’m into the future trend, and I try to develop them:

    QRReader.org <= registered in June 2011
    WalletControl.com <== registered in August 2011

    Most recent registrations are:

    TaptoBeam
    NFCBeaming

    ModernFloors.com
    MeetApp.com
    ServiceLab.com
    AdventureTravellers.com

  36. “This purchase pushed me to acquire last week Swapping.com”

Hello my francois. tell me please to where i must get a member to do the swapping.com. I am how you say very big lover of swapping.

  37. If anyone ever needed proof that domaining is dead this post will provide it.

    GiftsMagazine.com
    ModelBartender.com
    TaptoBeam
    383StrokerKit.com
    Tradies.xxx
    Macronic.com
    Tavoz.com
    martensitic.com
    tonification.com
    remoulins.com
    Magnify.me
    WomanPerfume.com
    Bareng.com…
    Icann thanks you
    your registrar thanks you
Now, either destroy your credit cards or get help. These are some of the most God aweful domain names ever registered. Absolute pigeon shit
Ones work, even when bad can always serve as a remember to others what they best ought not to do. Case in point here. Sad.

  38. Deadbeat – I’m glad my cheap little drop auction buy (Magnify.me) served as a “remember” to you and others. I also am glad it made you sad. But then, neither of those were reasons why I bought it so they are just a bonus. I bought a couple of .me’s because the ONE other one word .me I had was starting to get inquiries so I bought 3 more just to cast a wider net and see what I could catch. It obviously caught your eye so I think it was a successful test šŸ™‚ I really appreciate the feedback!

  39. Oh geez Deadbeat – in reference to ModelBartender.com it appears that there is a whole industry for models who bartend.

In fact the plural of this domain name is being used as a website that provides that service.

Any enterprising Model who bartends would want a business card with their headshot and portfolio on it to hand out along with the domain name.

IMHO it’s a fine hand regged domain –
    I won’t even bother to make a personal attack…lol

    http://www.facebook.com/modelbartenders

    http://newyork.craigslist.org/search/evg/mnh?query=model+bartenders&catAbb=evg&srchType=A&addThree=&nh=

  40. I’ve been buying up a lot of these over the last couple years, and built a single platform to run them on. I’ve started launching them as my team build content for others. Now time for some SEO and to get some traffic to them.

    http://www.donewyork.com
    http://www.dowashington.com
    http://www.dosingapore.com
    http://www.dobaltimore.com

I have a lot more of them and will be creating a large network over the next year.

@Elliot – I recall you not liking the domains particularly. What do you think of them now that they’re developed sites?

  41. @Deadbeat Domains. Sorry you do not like my domain 383StrokerKit.com. My dad and I who love rebuilding Chevy engines and I thought this would make a great addition to my portfolio. It may even make a nice niche ecommerce site.

  42. GemBrilliant.com
    PublishingAttorneys.com
    TerraceParkRealEstate.com-affluent area near cincinnati
6gPhones.com- ok, I’m an optimist. one day they’ll be here
seriouslyMom.com- auction pick up,because it made me laugh

Because I think there is future potential in Cuba

    GuardalavacaBeaches.com
    GuardalavacaVillas.com
    JibacoaVillas.com

  43. I recently purchased:

    hotelexhibits(.)com
    marijuanaonline.net
    feverreliever(.)com
    fastslimpills(.)com
    6gturbo(.)com
    7gturbo(.)com
    8gturbo(.)com
    1lb.me
    24th(.)co
    internetslots(.)co
    naturalacids(.)com

  44. RK,

Your kidding me. Those tube names are worth nothing. And plastic surgery deals. There is a reason that it was still available. It worthless.
