Poll: Are You Attending DomainFest?

DomainFest (DFG) is probably the most widely attended domain conference. I think there were somewhere around 700 people in attendance last year, which is pretty large considering the number of people who invest in domain names full time.

I have heard from several people who I almost always see at DFG that they aren’t attending the conference this year for one reason or another. The turnout always appears strong though, so I am just wondering if you have plans to attend this year. If you’ve attended in the past but aren’t planning to be there this year, why did you make this decision.

I am booked (have been for a few months), and I look forward to attending in just a couple of weeks.

  1. I will miss seeing and catching up with friends and colleagues but it has not proven to be of benefit for development intakes for me so I am going to sit this one out and start attending more SES, Affiliate Summits as well as other development based get togethers. I know everyone will have a blast and will enjoy the new entertainment lineup…

  2. I’m going, but I was disappointed to find out that some of the people I consider industry “friends” aren’t going to be there. Out of the two big U.S. conferences, this is the one that works out for me in terms of dates, so it was my only option. I’m sure it will be valuable, and I hope it will be a fun time, too.

  3. Wouldn’t miss it for the world, this is hands-down one of my favorite conferences of the year! Can’t wait to see everyone in Santa Monica in a few weeks!

  4. Will be missing my first DomainFest in 4 years this year. Love going to this show, but other priorities and expenditures have taken precedent this time. 🙁 Will be at the SoCal Domainer meetup just before, so I hope to see you Elliot, and some DFG regulars there.

  5. Would appreciate some input. I noticed that Jackpot.com is on the auction list for Domainfest, with the hopes of fetching high six figures. I’d sell Jackpot.XXX for just a few thousand dollars. Or am I being stupid?
