Video: Grit Brokerage Discusses Recent Sales

In a video podcast shared with me by Jag, Grit Brokerage discussed some of its recent domain name sales. With the help of DomainTools, I previously detected the sale of Analysis.com:

GoDaddy Makes Another Payout Change

Now that April Fool’s Day has passed, I will skip to the end – this was an April Fool’s Day joke.

Following its payout policy change involving LTO deals at Dan.com and Afternic, GoDaddy is making another change to LTO payments.

First, some background. From inception at Dan.com, if a lease to own deal was started on the 2nd of the month, subsequent payouts would be made to sellers on the 2nd or 3rd of each month during the lease term. Once the money from the buyer was received, it was sent to the seller like clockwork. Following the payout change, payment plan distributions were moved to the 7th, 14th, 21st, or 28th of each month. If a payment plan was started on the 2nd of the month, subsequent payments would be sent days later on the 7th. If made on the 7th, payment would be sent on the 14th.

YouForm.com Deal Looks Like a Win Win

Davis Baer, Founder of Youform, shared that his company acquired the Youform.com domain name for $7,500:

There are a few things to unpack from this and from his subsequent tweets. Youform has been using Youform.io for its website. The .com domain name was acquired via Sedo following a negotiation. Davis shared how the negotiation went, and he was able to secure the domain name for $7,500. This seems like a great deal for his company, particularly considering its initial $25,000 asking price.

Squadhelp Adds Escrow.com as a Payment Option

Squadhelp has added Escrow.com as a payment option for buyers. The addition of the Escrow.com option was shared by ARIYAS on X this morning:

I visited some of my Squadhelp listings, and the domain names all had the option for buyers to select Escrow.com for payment.

Some Thoughts on .AI Domain Names

22

There is no question that .AI domain names have become a hot topic of late. With considerable amounts of venture funding flowing into AI companies and established companies who embrace .AI, the number of .AI domain names being scooped up has grown. Tremendously. The NYTimes, among other mainstream publications, wrote about the windfall .AI domain name registrations and renewals is providing to the country of Anguilla since .AI is the ccTLD for Anguilla.

I recently published Andrew Miller’s thoughts on .AI domain names, and I wanted to share some of my own thoughts about them.

Handoff to Dan on Imported Leads Can be Confusing

0

I’ve been using the lead import option at Dan.com more regularly. Although the 5% commission is not ideal, transactions tend to move more quickly on that platform. On deals worth $5,000 or less, I am willing to sacrifice a couple hundred dollars in fees for the sake of expedience.
