NamesCon: Spotlight on Bodis

NamesCon is coming up in just over a week from today, and we have been publishing a series of interviews with sponsors and exhibitors. Today’s interview is with Matt Wegrzyn of Bodis, a domain name parking service.

NamesCon will be held from January 11-14, 2015 at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas. To date, there have been over 700 registered conference attendees, and 800+ people are expected to attend.

If you have any questions for Matt or for me, you are welcome to leave them in the comment section.

Can you tell us about your company and how long you have been there?

Bodis is a domain parking platform designed to help domainers better monetize their undeveloped domains. This month marks our company’s 8th year anniversary.

This will be your first time sponsoring at NamesCon. Can you tell us why you are sponsoring this year and what you hope to get out of NamesCon?

Domain parking has been a stable and healthy business model. We see it remaining that way for the years to come. Many of our competitors have exited the parking business for a number of reasons, leaving only a few viable companies in the domain parking space. We remain fully committed to the domain parking industry and hope to spread the word about our parking service and what we have to offer. We figure there is no better place to do that than the fastest growing and already largest domain conference – Namescon!

Where do you see Bodis going in the next year?

We’ve spent a considerable amount of years learning from our experiences and mistakes, and we’re always listening to feedback from our users. We’ve launched an entire update to our parking platform this month incorporating a lot of ideas that our users have suggested, as well as our own ideas that we’ve come up with over the years. Since most parking companies in the industry are partnered with the same upstream ad provider that we are, we know that the underlying monetization model will be identical. We don’t promise our users anything different in regards to the monetization model. However, our area of focus, which we are still able to innovate, are our features and domain management capabilities. We want to offer a simple and intuitive platform that will allow users to easily manage their parked domains while also offering additional features that our competitors don’t support.

Can you tell us about how your domain parking service helps deliver value to your customers?

First we’ve designed and launched a clean and intuitive user interface to help customers easily park and manage their domains. Our focus is innovative features that our users will appreciate. For instance, we pay fastest in the industry on a NET 7 payment schedule, which is faster than our upstream ad providers pay us. We have no minimum payout amounts (on certain payment methods). We strive to reply to every support inquiry within 24 hrs even on holidays and weekends. No support inquiry should ever be missed as all support emails & tickets are logged and tracked in our system at all times. These are just some of the ways we add value for our customers.

What are your thoughts about where domain parking is going in the next year?

We are Committed to Domain Parking. That is our slogan and that is what we stand by. Our focus is on adding innovate features as well as offering an easy and intuitive way for domainers to park their domains. We are very positive about domain parking and see it existing for many years. Bodis has been in business for 8+ years, and we see ourselves committed to the domain parking space for many years to come.

  1. Hey, what did they say about…a lipstick on a pit bull is still a pit bull –whateeevve–ver, you know what it means.

It is not what the outside that counts, it is how much $$$$ coming to our pockets.

  2. I gave Bodis a try a couple years ago and wasn’t impressed with the results, went to Voodoo and was very impressed, that was until 2 month ago where my PPC began to decline, it’s now half of what it was 3 months ago… Undecided if I should weather the storm or give Bodis another try, I’m seriously considering a move.

  3. Thanks to Elliot and Richard for allowing me to post on this blog.

Raider: Years ago we only had access to our primary upstream ad provider’s content network. Now that we have access to the content + search network pool of advertisers, most domains yield higher earnings (amongst other improvements along the way).

In any case, please feel free to reach out to me or to support at support@bodis.com and we can definitely look over your domains and performance in detail.
