NamesCon 2018 Auctions Up on NameJet

The NameJet live and silent domain name auctions are starting to take shape on NameJet. If you visit NameJet from now until the end of February (give or take), you can see the “NamesCon” link in the top menu. Clicking that will take you to the current list of domain names that have been entered into the auction.

At this point, it is unclear what domain names will be included in the live auction and what domain names will only be in the silent auction, but it is probably fairly clear which domain names are the best of the bunch right now. Knowing how this works, I am pretty sure this is only a preliminary list, and more domain names will be added to the auction as we get closer.

In my opinion, 10 of the best names include the following domain names, as of the time of publication:

  • Shock.com
  • Great.com
  • Runner.com
  • Pen.com
  • Impression.com
  • Cork.com
  • Lucky.com
  • KeyLargo.com
  • Super.com
  • Tees.com

Many of these domain names already have bids, although it doesn’t look like any have hit their reserve prices yet. It seems that the best names have reserve prices, and some of the reserves are quite high – over $1 million in some cases.

As you may have noticed, B52 Media, the company founded by Lonnie Borck, has several domain names listed for sale in the auction. Some of the domain names from the B52 portfolio include Shock.com, Publicize.com, Supervisors.com, and Summer.net.

I am not sure if the auction organizers are still accepting submissions for the NamesCon auction, but it doesn’t hurt to reach out if you have fantastic domain names for sale. As mentioned, I assume more great domain names will be added as we get closer to the auction.

The NamesCon live auction will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 4pm Pacific time. Bidding will take place at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas as well as online via NameJet.

  1. great names. Willing to bet they dont meet reserve. Rarely an end user bidding at domain event auction, and these portfolio owners arent looking to sell to speculating domain investors knowing they want big discounts. Throw in the heavy fee and , well, I guess any exposure is good. I clearly remember they wanted great names at LOW or no reserve. Always interesting to see the well connected get their names in with high reserves, while many others get pressured for a low reserve. Been there, done that.
