Moniker Seeking Account Executive / Domain Name Specialist

I read a Twitter post earlier today with a link to a job posting for Moniker. The company is seeking to hire a Account Executive / Domain Name Specialist in the Pompano Beach, Florida office. I don’t think this is the same position Patrick Ruddell left, as he was a domain broker.

The company lists a number of responsibilities for this position, which include:

  • Initiate, develop and cultivate accounts to sell domain names and related services via phone, Internet based communication and face to face meetings
  • Attend client meetings and industry trade shows
  • Manage ongoing relationships with clients including regular communication, analysis of data relating to their account, monitor success of their sales campaigns and advise clients on how to increase sales through existing and new efforts
  • Work with marketing and other entities to generate sales with decision makers. Must be aggressive and willing to make cold calls into accounts.
  • Utilize social networking and all forms of electronic communications (IM, text, etc) to maintain existing and develop new relationships
  • Identify domain sales opportunities that best meet client needs, create written sales presentations and present to clients as well as potential buyers
  • Research, negotiate and secure sellers for monthly/themed domain name auctions and obtain prospective buyers.  Facilitate and broker deals between parties.
  • Report pipeline and forecast using Salesforce.com

No domain industry experience is needed to apply for this position. A college degree is required, or some sort of equivalent experience is necessary.

If you happen to be looking for a job in the domain industry, this position is available. Information about applying for the position is available on the job posting page.

  1. U r well qualified for this position. I dont think u will be interested because u don’t need it and because u r an honest guy and wouldnt put uself in such position where one can fairly assess there is a conflict of interest in said position.

  2. I propose that Chef Patrick apply for this job… He has much experience with domains and his ‘step-over-anyone’ attitude would certainly help when it comes to business…

  3. @ Poor uncle

    LOL… Thanks 🙂

If I ever go back to a corporate job and/or work for someone else, it will be because I am bored with this business and it likely won’t be for a domain company.

it would have to take some special opportunity to get me to sell my portfolio and quit investing in domain names full time.

  4. Some of the tasks described are similar to those of a domainer though sales doesn’t seem to be my calling 🙂 Regardless, I’m sure Moniker would be an interesting company to work with.

  5. Speaking of full disclosure since Rick S. started all this with his usual over the top black helicopter blog…
Am I the last person to know that he and Howard got a percentage of all the TRAFFIC auctions?
Not against that. Just good business. But I would like to have known where my money was going, that he had a built in discount on that one auction he entered, and maybe a little less whining about the costs of the show and why the fees had to be so high. Some subsidization was possible. They probably still get a percentage of the original percentage after selling the show. If everyone knew but me then my bad. But I would like to have known.

  6. Sounds like an interesting position. However I really couldn’t work for Moniker/Oversee. Well, I’m in Australia for a start but even if I was local I couldn’t bring myself to doing it for ethical reasons, and not just because of the recent privacy issue either. Anyway, I hope someone suitable is found that is needing the position.

  7. i wonder what starting pay is? 100? 150k?

these tasks seem so hard…. Attend client meetings and industry trade shows, Manage ongoing relationships with clients , Utilize social networking – I think this job requires me to do more work than being an engineer.
