Keyword Tool to Find Domain Name Ideas

I want to share a keyword tool that I found useful, and you might find it interesting. EnchantedLearning.com is a website I just found via Google that has a reference page with “Vocabulary Word Lists by Theme.” You can visit the different theme pages and find related keywords to give you ideas for hand registered domain names or for keyword domain names.

Let me give you a couple of examples about how you may be able to use the keyword lists as a tool to find domain names:

I’ve heard that color + animal names may have value because they are brandable. I don’t love brandable domain names, but there are people who do like them. You can take the animal list, paste it into an Excel spreadsheet, and append popular colors to the front. Grab the new list and run it through a bulk domain name search tool. You can then buy the domain names you think are valuable.

You can also use the keyword lists to get ideas for domain names you want to buy on the aftermarket. Let’s say you saw that the Silver.com domain name sold for $875,000, and you want to find the names of other metals. You can look through the list to get those metal names and run them through DomainTools to get contact information, or you can look through Sedo and Afternic to see if any are listed for sale.

I don’t know who owns EnchantedLearning.com, and I am sure there are similar keyword tools available for you to search, but this website offers some comprehensive keyword lists that you might be able to use to find domain names.

  1. That IS a useful tool! Its use never occurred to me even though I used the Website over 10 years ago when I taught computers in elementary school. It does look budget but it has been around since 1996 and shouldn’t be going anywhere. It is loaded with lots of good educational ‘stuff’ and people subscribe for more good ‘stuff’. : )
