Igloo.com Relaunches, Integrates Aftermarket.com

The Igloo.com website was relaunched last week, and the  domain brokerage integrated the Aftermarket.com platform within its website. In addition to the high end domain brokerage, Igloo.com has replaced what was once Aftermarket.com. It is unclear whether the company intends to shed the Aftermarket.com domain name, but it seems the company is integrating this brand within its own website.

Here’s what the company said in an email it sent to newsletter subscribers and clients last week heralding the updates that were recently made:

“As you may recall, Igloo acquired the business of Aftermarket from Thought Convergence last fall. In bringing together an extraordinary offering of domain name aftermarket inventory in combination with dedicated domain advisors, we’ve been able to create a website that makes assisting buyers and sellers throughout all points of the sales process possible.

We are pleased to announce that very soon visitors to Igloo.com’s marketplace will have access to millions of names appealing to every type of buyer. As a valued Aftermarket account holder, we wanted to provide you with a sneak peek of our new site.

Our new sales platform offers custom templates, the ability to negotiate online with Offer/Counteroffer functionality, BuyNow for immediate procurement, and most importantly customer service and sales assistance available with our online chat feature.”

To see what a listing looks like, you can have a look at the Trainer.com listing on Igloo.com. I am unsure of whether Aftermarket.com logins work on Igloo.com, but I would imagine that is the case to ensure that all Aftermarket.com listings were ported to the new website. If you had domain names listed for sale on Aftermarket.com, you can try to log in to your account on Igloo.com. I did not have any listings there, so I am unsure if Igloo.com sent Aftermarket.com clients an email update.

I am sure people will be curious about the commission rate for the marketplace and brokerage, and the fee schedule  is listed on the website. One thing I noticed is that Igloo.com is working with Escrow.com for payments. Previously, Aftermarket.com worked primarily with Agreed Escrow, and that company was acquired by Escrow.com.

Igloo.com has grown quite a bit during the last few years, and the company employs quite a few great domain name brokers. Based on some observations I have made, I know that Igloo.com brokers have represented buyers on quite a few high end deals that are private. I frequently email Amanda and Tessa asking for details about a deal I believe they have knowledge of, and the most often reply is that they can’t comment.

It will be interesting to see how the new Igloo.com website shakes things up in the domain name aftermarket.

  1. Just tried my Aftermarket.com login at Igloo… logged right into my account – now the Igloo dashboard.

  2. As this was a “soft launch” of our website, the functionality for clients to delete individual domains is coming soon. The “Bulk Manage” option for larger numbers is fully functional. Of course, we are always willing to assist clients should they need their lists updated in any capacity.

  3. Their new site has a beautiful design, but it seems to me they removed the most important feature of Aftermarket.com: buttons, boxes and everything that is needed to accompany the buyer along the process to lease a domain. Without that feature their marketplace doesn’t add nothing to the staus quo, where leasing option is what has been missing for 20 years, T-W-E-N-T-Y Y-E-A-R-S.

Maybe it’s time to introduce the leasing process on marketplaces…

  4. Well, maybe the msg.I sent a couple of times didn’t arrive to you, I post it again, thanks.

Yes, I can confirm that they do. I’ve just logged in with my Aftermarket details.
