Help Our Friends in the Philippines

PhilippinesBy now, you’ve probably heard the news about the devastating storms that are severely impacting the Philippines.   I know of several people with family, friends, and business colleagues in the Philippines. In fact, my friends at Offshoring.com, RickLatona.com, and TechFilipino have significant amounts of employees and business operations in the Philippines, and I know of several people who read my blog that live there.

During this difficult time, our Filipino friends can really use our support – especially some financial support if you have the means. The Philippine National Red Cross is actively assisting victims of Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) and Typhoon Parma (Pepeng), and they accept donations via Paypal to make it even easier to help.

Whether you know someone personally in the Philippines or not, they can really use our support. In addition to the Philippine National Red Cross, there are a few other organizations that are helping storm victims:

Google has set up a Typhoon Ondoy information page as well, so you can stay informed about what’s happening in the Philippines. Our friends in the Philippines can use our support.

  1. The Red Cross is a great organization to donate to. When me and my family went through the tornado in early 2008, they were the first to respond. They made sure we had every meal, housing, blankets etc. They are wonderful. They made sure everyone had just about every need. Even comfort.

  2. Thank you so much for the support Elliot, We really appreciate the support. We’re expecting the typhoon tomorrow afternoon. I just hope everyone’s in a safe place

Thank you Tia and dhidji, it’s great to have people like you who could help our people in need.

  3. Thanks for the post and the links. Just made donations to a couple of these places. We have family in the Philippines so doing what we can to help those that got hit the hardest. Looks like another typhoon on the way too…

  4. Hi Elliot,
Thanks for spreading the word. We really need help from overseas. I’ll see you on the next NY DOmainer’s Meetup.

  5. This is one post that really hits home.

Thanks for the kind gesture, Elliot.

It’s really heart-warming to see domainers getting involved in humanitarian efforts, especially in the ongoing drive to help Ondoy’s victims in my country. I hope those who read this will find it in their hearts to donate. We need all the help we can get.

Yes, Rick Latona’s men are among those hit:
