GoDaddy Should Add Price Change Warning Confirmation

When I place a bid on GoDaddy Auctions, there is a bid confirmation screen that shows me my maximum bid amount. This is helpful in the event that I made a typo in the bidding field, allowing me to confirm that I my bid is for the intended amount. Here’s a screenshot of the confirmation page that I see when bidding on GoDaddy Auctions:

When I change the prices of domain names listed for sale on Afternic using the beta Domain Manager page, the confirmation pop-up does not show the changed price. Instead, the pop-up asks me to confirm that a price change was made to a domain name (or group of domain names) without showing the actual price. Here’s a screenshot of the confirmation page when changing a price:

I think this is problematic and needs to change.

When I update my pricing, I do it with a bit of trepidation. I am always concerned that I made a typo on a price listing. If the price was far too high, it’s probably not a big deal beyond dissuading a prospective buyer from purchasing my domain name. On the other side, if I price a domain name far too low, missing a zero or two for example, a buyer could score a great deal.

With GoDaddy’s Fast Transfer network, I would not even realize a mistake was made until the domain name was already sold and out of my account. I don’t even know if it is possible to reverse a Fast Transfer sale once it is done.

In my opinion, GoDaddy should add the same type of verification on price changes for Afternic listings that it has for GoDaddy Auctions bids. This would make me more comfortable when changing the prices of my domain names, especially when the prices of multiple domain names are changed at the same time.

  1. I bid on a godaddy auction yesterday and noticed the numerical field was much bigger than before. It was very helpful to have the number big and in my face. Your example above is what I used to see. The numbers gets lost in all the text imo.
