Did You Buy Any of the Released Uniregistry Domain Names?

Yesterday, I wrote about Uniregistry releasing 3.5 million domain names for people  to register. I am not really much of an investor in the new domain names besides a handful of them, so I did not register any of these domain names.

I know there are people who are investors in the new domain names, and I am curious if anyone was willing to share the names they registered yesterday. I briefly used the search tool that Uniregistry released in conjunction with the news, but I did really use it enough to comment about it.

It would be interesting to see what types of names became available and what types of names readers thought were valuable enough to register. Feel free to share your new registrations below so I (and other readers) can see the types of domain names that were purchased after the names were released.

    • Many top guys do not use them and you should not too.
By using them you simply deliver data to Frank Schilling.
Later he knows what kind of domains get most bids, sales and with that knowledge he goes to Namejet and bid against other people out there.

    • I am quite sure the small portfolio of domain names I have will not give much more data considering the millions (I think) of domain names already there.

As an aside, I forward my inquiries to a form on Embrace.com to manage them on my own.

    • I agree wit this sentiment to a degree, that data is highly dissected, and your dollars are used to compete against you by your own provider.

For this reason we are moving back to godaddy pronto.

    • I have to agree with @ada. Elliot the data collected is not only your small portfolio but 1000’s of portfolio like yours. It’s just hard to trust…. that’s when I kind look for the big guys, bcause if they do anything wrong it will cost them a lot.

    • I totally understand what you’re saying.

To me, the value I receive is worth giving up the data.

I make that same risk/reward calculation with other services. For instance, I am sure DomainTools sees what domain names I am interested in buying as well as researching. I am willing to give up that intel because the product is worth it.

  1. Did you see some of those names..

Totally contradicts Franks own logical thinking on selecting domain names. Now or in the future.

What was he or someone in his team thinking trying to keep 99% of those names off market or reserved..

Yes.. it was a .LOL event

  2. I registered below names:

    daily.flowers
    divine.flowers
    delhi.flowers
    royal.flowers
    indian.flowers
    ankara.flowers
    abudhabi.flowers
    dhaka.flowers
    chennai.flowers

    • Seems like you don’t know much about India. English is one of the 2 official government languages the other being Hindi. It is the unifying language in a land of many languages, and it is the preferred/dominant language of the educated class (who’d you expect to send flowers). An English ONLY website would succeed in India but not in China, India is a major English Speaking country.

  3. got pizza.help

I am addicted to Pizza so I couldn’t resist it.
However if anyone wants it..I am willing to quit my addiction for $5K… Just kidding.

    Will sell between $100-$200..

  4. I think the list is utter garbage. It is hard to believe they held back some of these useless domain names. I managed to find one, only 1 domain worth registering at regular price [ Chinese.Hosting ] the rest are useless.

  5. Top keywords that flow with the extension were hard to find. I ended up having to grab a donuts name, SOCCER.ACADEMY….Sorry Frank, but I couldn’t pass it up.
