Daily Poll: Did Bee.com Sell for 7 Figures?

In mid-April, Media Options announced via newsletter that it was brokering the sale of Bee.com. The domain name had an asking price of $2.5 million.

Yesterday, Media Options founder Andrew Rosener announced that his company successfully brokered the sale of Bee.com. I asked him if he could share the price or any details, but he told me it was a private sale.

This morning, I saw the domain name transferred to a different domain registrar, and the domain name is now registered under privacy. The domain name is not yet resolving, so it is unclear who bought the domain name.

Because Bee.com is such a great domain name and it sold so quickly, I am inclined to believe the seller got close to its asking price. That said, today’s poll asks if you think Bee.com, which had a $2.5 million asking price, sold for 7 figures.

Congratulations to the Media Options team on what must have been a great sale. I am sure the seller was happy to sell its name so quickly.

  1. The Bee.com now resolves to the website of a new Crypto Currency that can be mined from your cell phone (Smart Phone). They were using bee.games domain name before changing it to bee.com. I am not sure, if they would have bought the domain name, coz BEE.com sure would have been an expensive domain to buy for a Crypto Currency start-up. They could have also taken it on lease from the original owner.
