Buy Domains Enhances Website

Subscribe to Elliot's BlogI just noticed that it appears that BuyDomains.com has enhanced it’s website, greatly improving the search functionality. I am now able to do searches much, much faster than before. It looks like there are also better searching tools as well which is helpful.
One bug I noticed is when I did an advanced search using a specific keyword. On the results page, I tried to change it from 25 records per page to 55 records per page, and when the new page refreshed, my search was gone and it started with the name “AaaAaaAaaAaaAaaAaaA.com.” I think this must be a bug, but it’s one of those things that happens with an upgrade.
I really like the featured results section at the top as well, although the results weren’t in line with my search terms – or even related.
At first glance, it looks like this was a great upgrade, and I look forward to digging deeper and hopefully finding some nice names.

  1. Elliot:
Thanks for the comments and the helpful criticisms – greatly appreciated.
We have been working for several months on BuyDomains search algorythms, and have addtional search refinement launching in both of our next 2 release cycles.
Our goal is to make finding “the right domain” as easy as possible for gloabal SMBs and domain investors.
Keep the feedback – of all kinds – coming. It is very helpful.
    Best Regards,
    Pete

  2. Their prices are ridiculous however, who comes up with such outrageous prices? Many of those domains are not worth nearly what they are selling from. No bargains and buydomains.com, not even any good buys.

Worth it to whom? They aren’t selling to domain investors. Many of the names are priced well for the field. To paraphrase what Rick S. asks – “how much is a lead for a private jet sale worth?”

  3. I think BuyDomains is one of the few sites that gets domain values to end-users. I have bought many domains from them in the $1,000 to $3,000 range. I felt they were fair prices and am glad that they exist. So many domainers get tripped up on domain values and traffic that they miss amazing development opportunities for the right domain.
