Braden Pollock Named Big Brother of the Year

In addition to being entrepreneurial, it should come as no surprise that Braden Pollock is also known for his philanthropy. Braden has been a Big Brother for many years, and he is also involved in a host of other philanthropic activities, including being a board member at the Benevolent.net non-profit organization.

On February 7, Braden will be honored by the Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles (JBBBSLA) as its Big Brother of the Year. The organization will be hosting an event honoring Braden as well as its Big Sister of the Year (Lauren Kurzweil) and Inspiration Award (Marc Mostman). This annual event includes a cocktail party and dinner which raises funds for the organization. For those who are unaware, Big Brothers Big Sisters pairs participants with an older Big Brother or Big Sister who act as a mentor and friend. I am sure Braden thrives in this role in the same way he is a mentor and friend to many of us in the domain industry.

Here is a bit of background about Braden’s involvement in the organization, as shared on the JBBBSLA website:

“Braden began his involvement with JBBBSLA nearly nine years ago, when he first met his Little Brother, Daniel. Braden has always had a strong desire to make a difference and give back to his community, which led to his decision to become a Big Brother. When Braden was matched with Daniel, they both hit it off immediately. Over the years, Braden has been an active mentor in Daniel’s life, providing many fun memories and important life lessons along the way. With Braden’s guidance, Daniel was able to graduate high school with straight A’s and gain admission to his first-choice university. Daniel has become more than just a friend; he’s a part of Braden’s family. Braden is incredibly proud of the amazing man Daniel has grown to become.”

Industry friends and colleagues are invited to attend this special event at the UCLA Luskin Conference Center in Los Angeles. Attending the event may be difficult for those of us on the east coast who will have just returned from NamesCon at the end of January, but we are able to make a donation in Braden’s honor.
