Aftermarket.com Now Offering Parking

Aftermarket.com just announced that it will be offering parking services, and it appears that they will be offering clients a Google feed to monetize traffic. This ties in nicely with its domain sales and brokerage platform.

According to an Aftermarket.com blog article that was posted this afternoon, the company said, “we’ve been bursting-at-the-seams excited to announce our partnership with the Internet’s leading search engine and upstream provider to offer domain parking services on the Aftermarket platform.” Trafficz, a parking company operated by Thought Convergence, will continue to operate as usual.

I spoke with a representative at Aftermarket.com, and he shared additional insight about the parking platform. Clients will have a choice between one and two click landing pages. If the one click landing page is selected, visitors will be paid upon the first click, while the two click lander gives a more targeted advertisement and a larger payout per click. Clients can either allow the landing page to self optimize or they have the opportunity to optimize it on their own, selecting specific or related keywords.

You can have a look at an example of an Aftermarket.com landing page by visiting DogTrainer.com. (Please don’t click on the ads as that would not be condoned by Aftermarket.com or its upstream advisor). As you will see, there is a link at the top imploring people to purchase the domain name at Aftermarket.com. I previously discussed the live chat feature, which is something I think is probably helpful in selling domain names.

There are a couple of additional key points I was told. Aftermarket.com is hoping this platform will boost the volume of domain name sales it generates. As a result, I am told they are offering an aggressive revenue share for clients on the parking side of the business. In addition,  I was told the company is building a domain management system that customers will be able to use whether their domain names are parked with Aftermarket or not.

I believe competition helps yield higher earnings for clients, and it will be interesting to see how this new parking company causes changes within the industry.

  1. Hi Elliot:

    Just a couple of thoughts.

The reverse-type line at the top of the page is a bit difficult to read. If they change the font to dark type against a light background, the title of the page and announcement would be easier to read.

Also, the fact that the name is for sale could use a bolder treatment…larger font etc…

Great news though. More competition means more innovation!

  2. One thing I also noticed is that the Aftermarket logo on the bottom of the Dogtrainer landing page. One of the companies I use doesn’t do that and I thought that was a smart move on Aftermarket’s part.

  3. Chat idea for sales is good. Aftermarket is good for domain sales I hear.

    However:

    1. Still relying on google
    2. They should have announced this 2 years ago.
    3. Going be hard to compete against a Frank Schilling now.
    4. Google pays the parking company based on total volume and different types of levels
    5. A Rookmedia, voodoo, bodis, aftermarket should consider to merge in order to compete.

While I agree competition is good and agree, I dont think they will be much of a threat against a a voodoo, Rookmedia or a Frank. IMO

    Time will tell.

    • As you should know by now, I don’t do affiliate advertising (aside from a few legacy links from years ago). I also don’t accept paid posts either.

They didn’t ask me to post it and didn’t pay me a dime.

    • And you asked people not to click on the ads but no worries, I click on ads all the time them to make sure the domainers get paid (that’s what they’re for, right?)

Not enough to be noticeable and I do mask my IP if I am going to click on links or ads don’t worry!

      Have a Cronut on me!

  4. @Elliot

I acknowledge your patriotism and I understand you have domain stock, but it’s not going to make you extra money from domains in the months to come.

IMO: Offload now.. or become another statistic.

  5. I registered afteraftermarket.com 2 years ago. I originally wanted to do something related to domain portfolio assistance for beneficiaries of a domainer’s estate. Most people have no idea what to do with domains they acquire in this manner. The name could be used for collectibles or antiques too. Do you think there is infringement in using this name?

  6. I trust that any domain inquiry via the parked page would go through Aftermarket, not giving the domain owner the option to negotiate the sale him or herself, correct?

Think I’ll stick with Voodoo and handle my own sales, I like it better that way, far less headache.
