Riding in the 2014 Pan Mass Challenge

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund are two organizations that are very important to me and my family. My wife and I are members of the Friends of Dana-Farber organization, and we happily support DFCI and the good things they do.  If you aren’t familiar with Dana-Farber, here is more information about this great organization:

Since its founding in 1947, Dana-Farber has been committed to providing adults and children with cancer with the best treatment available today while developing tomorrow’s cures through cutting-edge research. Read about our history, our breakthroughs, and the resources that help us support the health of our neighborhoods and communities.

I am going to be riding in the 2014 Pan Mass Challenge bike ride to raise funds for Dana-Farber. The ride I will be participating in will start in Wellesley, Massachusetts, ride to Patriot Place in Foxboro, and return to Wellesley, for a total of 47 miles of bike riding in one day.  I am hoping to raise $5,000, and I would sincerely appreciate your support.

During the summer, I will likely do some things to raise funds for my PMC ride. I haven’t decided yet, but I might auction domain names I own, offer advertising space, sell a couple of hours of domain consulting services, or do something else to raise funds. This might lower the amount of donations that are sent now, but I would hate for someone to donate and then feel badly that they could have gotten something from me in return (aside from gratitude), so I am just letting you know in advance.

A few years ago, my wife and I rode in the 5 Boro Bike Tour to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House of New York City. With the help of our friends, family, and colleagues, we raised over $10,000 for the Ronald McDonald House in two years of riding. I am hopeful that I can once again count on friends and family for their support. If you are able to help in with any amount of money, it would be appreciated and be meaningful to me.

2024 Pan-Mass Challenge

On August 3-4, 2024, I will be riding in my 11th Pan-Mass Challenge ride to benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dana-Farber is a global leader in the fight against cancer, offering essential treatment and care to patients while spearheading some of the world’s most advanced cancer research. This year, the PMC will pass $1 billion in total funds raised for Dana-Farber.

When I started my fundraising in 2023, my cousin had recently been diagnosed with cancer. She was a patient at Dana-Farber, and after many months of treatment and surgeries, she is now cancer-free. A close friend of ours was just diagnosed with cancer, and she started her treatment plan a week ago. She will prevail. Sadly, Howard Neu recently passed away after battling cancer for 18 months. Cancer impacts all of us.

John Berryhill will be joining me again for this year’s Pan-Mass Challenge ride and fundraising campaign. With the help of domain industry friends and colleagues, John and I have helped raise nearly $165,000 for Dana-Farber. Thank you!

John and I will soon share more information about sponsoring the special domain industry PMC jersey we will wear this year while we train and when we cross the finish line. In the meantime, if you would like to support my fundraiser with a donation in any amount, my fundraising page is here. You can also support John’s fundraising campaign. All of this year’s domain industry supporters are listed below and will continue to be added throughout the year.

Thank you to business friends and colleagues who have always generously supported our Pan-Mass Challenge fundraising. We appreciate you.

2023 Pan-Mass Challenge

On August 5-6, I will embark on my tenth Pan-Mass Challenge ride to raise funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dana-Farber is one of the leading cancer organizations in the world, and they are at the forefront in the fight against cancer. It is an honor to support Dana-Farber’s critical mission of providing exceptional cancer treatment while conducting advanced cancer research.

With the help of domain industry friends and colleagues who have sponsored and supported our PMC rides, John Berryhill and I have raised more than $142,000 for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Although John is unable to join me this year, my 2023 fundraising goal is $15,000. Without the support of domain investors and domain name industry companies, we could not have supported Dana-Farber to this extent. You are appreciated.

This year, Dana-Farber and its mission are hitting closer to home. A family member recently began cancer treatment with Dana-Farber. It is going to be a long battle. In addition, a domain industry colleague recently shared his cancer diagnosis. Cancer impacts just about every person. I am dedicating my fundraising and PMC ride to these two strong individuals.

I will soon reveal the design for my 2023 domain industry supported cycling jersey that will be created to raise funds for Dana-Farber, as I have done nearly every year. My company will be the lead sponsor of this year’s jersey, and I hope to have domain industry support again this year.

If you are interested in adding your logo to the back of my jersey this year in exchange for a $500 donation to Dana-Farber via my PMC fundraiser, let me know. If you would like to support my fundraiser with a donation in any amount, my fundraising page is here. All domain industry supporters are listed below.

Thank you so much to friends and colleagues who have always generously supported my Pan-Mass Challenge fundraising.

2022 Pan-Mass Challenge

logoLater on this Summer, John Berryhill and I will participate in the Pan-Mass Challenge ride to raise funds and awareness for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Dana-Farber is one of the leading cancer organizations in the world, and we are happy and honored to be able to support its mission of providing exceptional cancer treatment and completing advanced cancer research. This will be my ninth PMC ride and John’s fourth PMC ride.

During this year’s PMC, John and I will ride the two day 162 mile route from Wellesley to Provincetown. I set an ambitious fundraising goal of $15,000 $18,000, and John’s fundraising goal is $10,000. Since my first PMC ride, with the help of domain investment industry friends and colleagues, we have raised nearly more than $100,000 for Dana-Farber.

2021 Pan-Mass Challenge

The largest annual fundraising event for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston is the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC). During the first weekend of August, I will be riding in the PMC for the eighth consecutive year. With the support of friends, colleagues, and family, we have raised nearly $80,000 for Dana-Farber. For three years (and hopefully in the future), I rode the PMC with John Berryhill, and together, we have raised more than $88,000 for Dana-Farber.

The most important aspect of the Pan-Mass Challenge is fundraising for Dana-Farber. The PMC typically raises 57% of the annual budget for Dana-Farber’s Jimmy Fund. Since the PMC was founded, it has raised $767 million for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

I know several people, including friends, family, and colleagues, who have bravely fought cancer. Dana-Farber is one of the leading cancer fighting and cancer research organizations in the world.

2020 Pan-Mass Challenge

logoOnce again this year, John Berryhill and I are registered to ride in the 2020 Pan-Mass Challenge to raise money and awareness for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Dana-Farber is one of the leading cancer organizations in the world, and we are happy to support their mission of providing exceptional cancer treatment and completing advanced cancer research. Since the start of the Pan-Mass Challenge ride in 1980, the PMC has raised $717 million in funding for Dana-Farber and its Jimmy Fund.

Obviously, the circumstances of the ride are tentative due to the uncertainty of whether it will be possible this year to assemble the rolling army of nearly 7,000 PMC riders expected.
