510PacificAve.com An Interesting UDRP

I noticed that an interesting UDRP was recently filed at the World Intellectual Property Organization for the 510pacificave.com domain name. It appears that the domain name is referencing a street address, 510 Pacific Ave. The UDRP is WIPO Case D2015-1105, and the complainant is listed as Lindeva Living Trust / Kim W. Lu Trustee.

The domain name was registered in September of 2014. According to the Whois database, the domain registrant is listed as “PACIFIC VENICE,” and the registrant address matches that of the domain name: 510 Pacific Ave. in Venice, California.

Where it gets interesting is the content on the 510pacificave.com website. It appears that it is some sort of gripe site: “We are the tenants of 510 Pacific Ave, Venice, CA 90291,” the website states on the “Story” section of this website. That story page then goes into specific details about the property, ownership, and more.

It will be interesting to see what comes of this UDRP and how the panel rules on it. I don’t recall seeing a UDRP filed on an address domain name like this.

  1. This is hilarious! The tenant clearly has a lot of time on their hands and has made a very entertaining gripe site.

The UDRP will likely be denied. But if its not, I will donate a domain name to the cause (.wtf,. gripe,…)
