10 Recent Domain Acquisitions

It’s been a busy few weeks ย for me, and I thought I would share 10 recent domain name acquisitions my company made. Some were bought privately from their former owners and others were bought at auction at NameJet. These are just an assortment of names that were purchased lately.

Purchase prices for the domain names below range from under $100 to 5 figures, and they are listed in alphabetical order:

  • ASLInterpreters.com
  • BarefootRun.com
  • BeerSigns.com
  • Chateaus.com
  • CiaoBella.com
  • CommunityGarden.com
  • Cranky.com
  • Pulmonologists.com
  • Stingrays.com
  • VisitWillemstad.com

In addition to these domain names, I hand registered one to compete in the .XYZ Challenge contest. I saw this Wall Street Journal ย article about the trend ย of high end glass bathtubs, and I hand registered ย GlassBathtubs.com. Aside from this domain name, I have not hand registered many other domains lately.

You are welcome to share the domain names you recently acquired.

  1. Elliot – Out of curiosity – why chateaus.com? You don’t usually go for misspellings so this surprises me. Is it getting traffic? Brandable play? Also – if this is any indication that you’re getting into the wine niche I’m going to join Shane in my disdain. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • 3DPrintedPill.com for which I would consider any good offer if received. The first 3D-printed pill now approved by the US opens up a huge world of downloadable medicine!

  2. CiaoBella and Cranky are my choice from this list. Good to see you’re registering dictionary and brandable domains versus random LNN etc. A lot of pump and dump in that direction.

    • In my opinion you are very wrong about the LNN.com and NNL.coms. They are short and will grow in value. Time will tell but I haven’t been wrong yet. People like you told me numbers had no value either. They weren’t words, they meant nothing. Pretty sure my 50X.com will have a lot more and longer value than some ฮฒฮปฮฌฮบฮฑฯ‚’s catering-company.com

    • Shane – Been there, done that. Sold dozens of LLN and LNN .com domains a decade ago, then moved on to the ones that make the real money. Sold LLL com/net/org domains for thousands of dollars also.

You’re acting like you discovered the Golden Grail. Making flipping money off token domains is a great pastime, and just like penny stock you won’t move on to big sales either.

Unfortunately you take every dissenting opinion personally, and particularly when it comes from me. But others experience your attitude also, and aren’t afraid to speak out when it’s evident how the hype and pumping occurs. Learn to respect your peers, especially when they are more experienced in one thing on two.

ฮ’ฮปฮฌฮบฮฑฯ‚ – Greek for stupid – is your attempt at dissing a 1999 domain? I’m sorry to hear that you’re as bitter as your sale of bigpickle for a couple of hundred. Great brand, and whoever bought it is less of a ฮฒฮปฮฌฮบฮฑฯ‚.

      Cheers!

    • Acro I will take you more serious when you own your own .com for your website and make it on domainsherpa LOL.

Shane stop buying 3 letter number and letter names your not going to make any real money even it is only like 5k-10k or so per name. It is a waste of time because you have to much money. LOL

    • @Donny,

Meaning no disrespect to Michael Cyger, who has put together a very interesting series at DomainSherpa, including interviews with many experts …

Still, it’s absurd to think that not being a guest on his podcast disqualifies someone from being taken seriously. Domainers who think that DomainSherpa IS the domain industry ought to get out more. Personally, I like the show; and I regret not having time to watch it even once during the past 2-3 years. But the fact is, working full time in the domain industry keeps some people busy.

Maybe if I watched the show, I’d find Shane Cultra charming. As things are, Shane, I just see you going out of your way to insult your colleagues online whenever you get the chance โ€“ week after week after week. To a professional that seems unprofessional. Although I’ve never seen you on DomainSherpa, I must admit that the show seems far less credible to me, knowing that you’re a major ingredient of it and seeing the way you interact with your peers online.

Shane, you know what I’m talking about. Behave, or no dessert.

  3. MostWantedPizza.com
    DiabloStudio.com
    UnderRage.com
    TheFlexion.com
    TheGraphicSchool.com
    Magma.online
    Recognize.online
    Recognition.online
    WUN.online
    WYN.online
    GBC.online

    • What do you like about them when the American public still scarcely even knows .US exists since 2002 and Neustar is committed to maintaining the same level of obscurity it has since the beginning (http://domainnamewire.com/2015/06/15/neustar-sean-kaine-dnw-podcast-37/)? Are you the guy who owns Pizza.us (great one)? The non-country ones you’ve posted here are okay, though not the kind I’m into. The country and Delhi + “.us” ones just don’t work, however, and you’d be wise to not renew them.

  4. I spend five minutes to find that the domains below are not registered you can register them for less than $10.00 they may hold more value than some of the domains mentioned.

    zackmac.com
    novascandal.com
    ectneeded.com
    Gabcxyz.com

    • I know that. That’s the whole point. Many of the domain names mentioned in this blog that were bought in the after market also don’t make sense either.
Glenn, the only name in the group that may makes little sense is the one that you thought otherwise which is GABCXYZ.com. If you are following the news, Google just bought the domain name abc.xyz . After you know that maybe you will register it yourself. why you think there is over 250.000.000 .com registered.

    • Which domain names that I mentioned above do not make sense to you? Other than Chateaus.com, I can’t see how any of those wouldn’t make sense, especially if you would take a moment to perform a Google search to understand the meaning.

  5. CiaoBella.com is a very nice brandable, and I see you’ve noticed the TMs, one of which (the gelato company) predates your name reg date.
IMHO Community Garden fits better to a .org, given the nature and the purpose of the activity.

    Our latest addition, both .com:
    * Plastic Waste Recycling
    * Sliding Door Wardrobe

  6. Ciao Bella is a nice brandable, I see you have noticed the TMs, including one (the gelato company) which predates your name reg date.
IMHO Community Garden maybe fits better to a .org, given the nature and purpose of the activity.

    Our latest purchases, both coms:
    – Plastic Waste Recycling

    • Like every common word and phrase, there are many trademarks (both registered and common law). My usage of CiaoBella.com does not and will not infringe on any trademarks. There are salons, restaurants, clothing companies, consulting firms, photography companies…etc all called Ciao Bella.

There are many businesses around the world called Ciao Bella, just like there are thousands of companies that call themselves Apple.

    • Elliot,
I never said you are infringing on the “Ciao Bella” TM, I just stated I was sure you noticed the existence of those TMs (that’s why you have not parked the domain), I’m sure you can understand the difference.
And yes, I’m enough aware and experienced about how TM laws work :), anyway thanks for your explanation.

  7. I like cranky.com and CiaoBella.com very much. Fairly recent .com for me is Drivels and FuturesOrders. I think Drivels.com would be great for a social satire site of some kind and already received offers, but they are lowballs unfortunately. I submitted Memory.xyz, Sphere.xyz and SaoPaulo.xyz to the XYZ challenge.

  8. I like .online, bought some:

    Mens.Online
    Gtld.Online
    Chai.Online (Chai tea)

    HotPizza.Online
    BestPizza.Online

    Sausage(s).Online
    Butchers.Online

    Lingeries.Online
    Underwears.Online
    Swimwears.Online
    Jewelleries.Online

    Blueberry.Online
    Blueberries.Online

    Grocer.Online

  9. Elliot, it is difficult not to admire you.

You buy keyword.coms (sometimes even three word ones)

when several bloggers are saying…two word and three word .coms have no value…such thing.

  10. I like Cranky.com and CiaoBella.com very much. Fairly recent .com acquisitions for me are Drivels.com and FuturesOrders.com. I submitted Memory.xyz, Sphere.xyz and SaoPaulo.xyz to the XYZ contest.

  11. Recently added these to my portfolio.

    FoodTruckParks.com
    EmergencyFoodService.com
    JewelryGoldsmith.com
    OffPriceBargains.com
    HomeNetworkProducts.com
    OriginalMfgParts.com
    DirtyBoyClub.com

  12. I thought about increasing my real estate exposure, so I regd 17 domain names. I will mention only two:

DodomaRealEstate.com – the capital of Tanzania has been moved to Dodoma
KanoRealEstate.com – population about 5M, second largest city in Nigeria

  13. My favorite from the group is Cranky.com. Short and brandable. Definitely could be developed into some sort of entertainment site.

My latest purchases include: PhysicianDegree.com and ColorPsychology.org.

  14. CiaoBella.com — not so much. Over-used phrase by persons from the USA. My girlfriend who is from Italia hates this when my friends say this to her. Of course, these are the Italian words they know.

CiaoBella.com — limited market — hair salons, restaurants, Pizza joints, and if lucky, the name of some designer clothes

    Cranky.com — not much. Crank.com –yes —
